Good point Yeasty, we have a daughter with allergies, so we use "sensitive" detergents. Which basically means little to no perfumes.

Same here although I wouldn't wash my bag with hashie's pants or socks .

I think any detergent would be fine as polyester is very impervious so it would retain so little scent, I think it would be very unlikely to affect your beer.

I just rinse it a bit to get the stIckiness out then hang it in the sun. A few days later you can shake the dry grain out!

How is that going for you? Are you bringing your kettle indoors now? Just asking since I haven't brewed since mid october...

Still wondering if I can get away with wrapping the kettle up extra during the seasonal shift.

Have you seen my post in http://www.biabrewer.info/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=846
Actually I tested out my garage last weekend and it worked well.I bought a co detector and fire extinguisher first! The only downside really was all of the hauling from my basement brewery to the garage.I plan to do most of my brewing outside and just try to pick calm days.I can tolerate very cold temps so long as the wind stays down.

I just rinse with cold water then hang up to dry, then about every 20 brews I throw the grain bag and hop bags into some bleach to soak and restore their original colour.

Ok, thanks for reporting your experience.
The first time i just rinsed mine with water, but I think next time I'll put it in the machine.
It's a little smelly now... :|

I recently had to bleach my biab bag to remove some spots that came about from it being put away wet...anyway, its clean
now but I am worried that the voile may have retained bleach which will impart off flavors. Anybody have advice on this topic?
I did boil the bag for quite some time and also soaked it in a strong solution of campden (1 tablet for 4 liters) but when I boil
the bag I still get a slight whiff of chlorine.

Any advice or experiences?

I would continue rinsing the bag until the only chlorine wiff you get is from the chlorine in your hot water
