Hi
I'm an Italian homebrewer and DIY enthusiast

I have many years experience in brewing and building brewing systems
After different upgrade of my brewing tools I’m working to a single vessel automated system that uses BIAB philosophy …so I think to be in the right place to learn the BIAB technique and share my experience with my brewing system

Thank you all for support and suggestions

Regards
Davide

Hi All,

Chiming in to say hello. I'm back with a renewed interest in home brewing after a long hiatus from it. I got into brewing back in 1987 and pursued it for a few years (extract) before the kids arrived. In the mean time, we moved 7 times and would you believe it, all my brewing equipment and empty bottles also made the moves. Three weeks ago the light bulb in my head went off and I dragged out all my stuff and now have an extract Nut Brown Ale fermenting. All grain brewing has piqued my interest in a big way and BIAB especially. My next foray into brewing will be getting into all grain via BIAB. I enjoy the web site very much and look forward to gaining lots of knowledge and offering anything I can to help others out as well.

David

Greetings form Vermont! I found this site after researching the HERM brewing system and realizing... it. is. very. very. expensive. I really like the site so far; lots of great information and well designed. I've been brewing for about 2 years, started with extract, tried AG but wasn't pleased with my efficiencies and now I can't wait to try BIAB!

Cheers, Bennett

Good Day, bennett, WELCOME ABOARD! HERMS for BIAB have been done by many folks here, You can start with a good kettle and a bag, and then add (as some say BLING-BLING) additions to the kettle and soon you may have a new idea for HERMS, and have a complete automation for you system. Good Luck with your first BIAB brew!!

I've been brewing for a few years now, but so far I've only used extract and specialty grains. Most of my beer has been... less than perfect. I can always tell they're extract brews.

I want to move all grain brewing as painlessly as possible, and from everything I've read about the process BIAB seems like the obvious choice. I also have space restrictions that might make this method my ONLY choice.

I hope to learn more about it here, and share some of my successes and failures. No matter what happens, it will at least be beer.

Welcome to the board saroyan :peace:.

You are probably like me and can't stand the slightest hint of extract 'twang.' You are going to love all-grain.

I used to all-grain traditionally in a small apartment. BIAB then became available and moving to that was a godsend. Excellent beer from a simple and logical method with the added benefit of requiring less equipment.

Full cream milk, straight from the cow :P
If you have found the above or anything else of value on BIABrewer.info, consider supporting us by getting some BIPs!

Hi everyone, made my first brew (extract) two months ago. Since then I've brewed two more extract batches and made a keezer with a 4 corny capacity. Now I'm thinking of converting my 15gal kettle into a electric BIAB system. BIAB looks like the simplest way to jump to all-grain and see if I want to get into it even more down the road. All these parts are taking up a lot of space so I can really see myself sticking with BIAB. All of the quality without all of the hassle.

I guess this really is an obsession :)

[MODNOTE: David's contact details were passed on to Pat prior approval and have been edited out.]

Hi. I have only discovered this site tonight, thanks to Brad Smith (Beersmith). I am organising the first Qld Homebrewing Conference for Nov 5. Up till a few days ago I had a presenter to do a session on Beersmith 2. Unfortunately, for personal reasons he has had to pull out. Brad suggested I speak to Pat on this Forum. However, as a newbie, it seems I can not private email him or contribute to topics yet.

Is there any chance you could pass on my contact details to Pat in the hope he might be willing to step in and do a presentation on all the work he has done on Beersmith 2? My email is [Edited]

I would also love to post a topic on your site telling your readers about the conference on November 5 - we will even have a systems war session which will include a BIAB brew being matched against Braumeisters, and 3V rigs.

Thanks in advance for your assistance with Pat.

Cheers David

Hi all
I live in Rockingham Western Australia.
I've been brewing for about 7 months now, only kits so far.
Starting to do my study to make the step up to BIAB and heard about this site on AHB.
First got into brewing to keep myself entertained while on parental leave from work when our first child was born and now I'm hooked :D

Good Day Bung, Biab is easy if you have ever done a partial mash, or steeped some grains. All you need is a bag large enough to hold all your grains, and a kettle large enough for your recipe, Have fun and good luck with your first BIAB batch!
A good place to start to learn about BIAB is http://www.biabrewer.info/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=194.

Hi everyone,
I've been brewing for over two years, but mainly with kits and doing partials. I've now finally managed to get my all grain equipment! So funnily enough I'm curious to do my first all grain as a BIAB - and it'll be a Pale Ale just so I can better understand the grains and the balance between them and the hops. It'll make it easier for me as I move forward onto Amber's, Porter's and Stouts. I'm hopefully to get a lot of ideas for my first Pale Ale, maybe even doing an APA. Who knows ;)

Good Day Dannbrew, sinve you have done some partial mashs/steeps, you have dome almost a full BIAB, The balance between Malt and bitterness is a difficult job. You may like the Calculator, it takes some learning and time, but it really helps you with the recipe, hops, mash and boil. Check http://www.biabrewer.info/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=189. Good Luck and Please post any questions you have, poeple here have MANY YEARS of experience!!

Hi, my name is Paul and I've been brewing for about a year now. I'm pretty comfortable with extract, but there are some beer styles that need a little more control over the grain bill. I've looked at some of the all-grain setups, and frankly it seems like a bridge too far. My son suggested I check out BIB. After lurking for quite a while, I decided to become a "real" member.

Good Day Pgutwin, Biab is the good way to go All-Grain, add a bag to the kettle and your ready to go!
You may want to check "The Commentary" @ http://www.biabrewer.info/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=190 . It is a good reading for BIAB, And if you have ANY questions, Please post them and someone (or very many) will give you Help. Good Luck with your first brew!

Hi everyone,
Im from Rockingham Western Australia and have been brewing for a couple of months,
Started brewing kits but seems like BIAB is the way to go for me, I'm looking at starting with small batches of 9L or so in a 19L pot.
I heard about the site on AHB, it looks great and I'm looking forward to making use of the wealth of knowledge on here,
