Hello Everybody

I'm from Fife in Scotland and I came across this site after reading a recommendation on Jim's Beer Kit. The site looks excellent, loads of brilliant information.

I'm currently an extract brewer but am looking to learn AG. I've made some good beer (IMHO!) with extract and steeped grains but would like to learn a bit more. I've been a bit daunted by the amount of kit required for AG as I only have a small brewing space. BIAB looks like it would solve a lot of these issues.

I currently work as an electrical engineer and brew at the weekend.

Cheers

SV650.

SV650,

BIAB is the best way to begin your AG journey. In fact it is a short trip to long stay.
tap 1 Raspberry wine
tap 2 Bourbon Barrel Porter
tap 3 Czech Pilsner
tap 4 Triple IPA 11% ABV

Pipeline: Mulled Cider 10% ABV

Hey ya, Mark here from NZ...
Only recently got into brewing, have done a handful of kits, a couple of extracts and have come here to school up on BIAB as I want to get into AG eventually. At this stage, my on hand equipment will allow me to get into BIAB, will start of with a couple of Mini BIABs to get a feel for it and to taste away learning from the grains etc.

Looking forward to entering the BIAB world and to continue enjoying Beers that I have made...and the improvements (plus some failures) along the way!

Cheers

Hi all,

1. Where are you from?
Sydney

2. How did you stumble across the site?
Referral from Aussie Home Brewers website, when I was looking for BIAB assistance

3. What you think of it so far?
So far so good

4. Have you brewed at all before. If so, for how long and what method are you currently using?
I have done a lot of extracts, and some partials and now the all grain type

5. Do you work? Are you retired or maybe you run a household?
I work a couple of jobs.

I fell in love with German wheat beers a couple of years ago and it was this that brought me back to home brewing, the quality you can achieve with a good yeast absolutely blew me away!

Cheers,

Stevo

Hi there!

From San Francisco, found this site through HBT. Been brewing for about 2.5 years now, 2 of them AG. I'm currently working on building an electric system, and midway figured it'd be far easier to make it BIAB. So I'm here to learn more about what works for people! Haven't yet decided if I'll only do BIAB, or only do BIAB for grain bills that fit in my pot. But it seems so easy that I could see myself doing exclusively BIAB, and using extract to make up the gravity on bigger beers. We shall see...

Anyway, this site is a great resource. I look forward to hanging out!

Living in Lowell, Massachusetts, USA and got here via a google search for BIAB and Qbrew. I've been doing extract and partial mash brewing on and off for about 12 years, and decided to upgrade to a 10 gallon all grain BIAB setup. Most of the parts are on the way, but I'm looking forward to it. GIS pays the bills.

Hi all, Unlce Sterlo here from SE Melb. Been knocking out K&K's and got bored, now on the BIAB and making the best beers on the street (at least i reckon they are) Reckon fermenter #3 won't be able to keep up soon.

Hi all,
I am from the Western Cape in South Africa, an area called the Little Karoo. Bloody hot in summer & pretty cold in winter. I learnt of this site from Jim's Beer Kit site. I have been doing Kit beers 'till now (Coopers) & have just done my first BIAB or possibly a partial mash - not 100% sure of what to call it! For now I will go for the BIAB label as I did use bags to mash the grain!
I am retired as from the end of 2010 - I thought 65 was long enough.

Hi All,

I'm originally from the UK (Yorkshire) but now residing in Sunbury, Victoria, Australia. Saw a reference to this site on Aussie Homebrew website and thought I'd take a look, its looking good so far! I've been brewing for about 4 months now, I started with 3 k+k beers, which were rubbish. Then I read and read and read, and finally, now, I do a weird BIAB type affair!

Hi there!

I've been extract brewing for 18 years and I'm finally ready to make the leap into all-grain. While doing some research on all-grain equipment I stumbled across BIAB and I'm 100% ready to make the leap. I've made some ok brews in the past but looking forward to brewing from scratch.

Headed off to The Grape and Granary in Akron, OH to buy a new brewpot, chiller and burner with the money I'm saving by not buying a full AG kit. (ok, I may run a tad over budget here but you get the idea)

Now I've just got to figure out the actual BAG part of BIAB. Time to test out my sewing skills.

Thanks!
Steve

Aloha from sunny Hawai`i,
I've been brewing for a few months mostly extract. Switched to BIAB 3 weeks ago and have done two 1 gallon batches. Plan to switch to 1.5 gallons next. I don't want to have 48 bottles of one type of brew when I can have a variety by going small.

I found this site from a link on Home Brew Talk . com

Hello from Richmond, VA!!

I have been homebrewing for about a year and am finally ready for all grain brewing. I have been reading up on the BIAB method for a few months and I will be brewing the first weekend of August. I heard about this site from a friend at our local homebrew club. I love all of the great information here and can't wait to get started.

Greetings folks. I'm a veteran brewer from Oklahoma in the states but have never gone BIAB. Thought I'd do some homework before jumping in. I've heard good things about this forum so here I am...

Cheers!
