I guess it comes down to what you are going to filter.

Are you filtering the water for brewing, or are you filtering the fermented wort for bottling/kegs?

Unless the water you have is really crap, I wouldn't filter it. If it is crap then the filters you have linked would be fine.
They would also work to filter your finished beer, but I don't understand why people feel the need to do this.

I use one such filter for my brew/mash. I can certainly tell the diference when I'm drinking it, so I figure that it would benefit my beer. It does not filter the minerals or salts either so it won't hurt it in that regard. I have moderately hard water, so it's suitable for most beer styles :)

I also have to add some potassium met. after to the kettle for the Chloramines cause those are hard to get rid of...
