For you technical folks..... I have been looking at a variety of calculators.. but my tired old brain struggles. I can get to the point where I add my grains and water profile to give me an approximation of what I need to do with the water. The question comes up now.. I get my strike water up to, say, 160* and add my grains and I'm happily sitting at 150* (This may/not be correct.. just example). Now, 15 minutes into the mashing process I find my pH is 5.6 rather than, say, 5.2 and I'd like it there.
Is there a calculator that anyone is aware of that will tell me how many milliliters of LacticAcid @ % or PhosphoricAcid I'd need to add to adjust it down? It would be great to get a number that I can stir in to get me real close so I don't have to keep opening or keep testing.

HbgBill, From My experience, 5.6 is very Good Ph, the mash likes 5.2ph+-0.5ph, So you right in the envelope to MASH.
But, if you Know how many gallons are at 5.6 ph and the strenght of the Lactics/Phosphoric ph/gr or acid per gram of solution, since a "mL" is different density at different temperatures you need to weight the acid.
Like 88% latric can change 1L, 0.1ph, per Gram of acid.
So to change 1L, -0.3 ph, it will take 3 grams, and to change 10L wouold take 30 Grams, and 30L will take 90 grams.
So, it takes some work to correct the mash. Yours is real good at 5.6 and will work very well!!

Thanks Joshua.. my 5.6 was merely an example. I have no idea of what and were things will be when I take a reading. Just trying to be prepared ahead of time. I could just run a batch and see what it tastes like.. but, if I have the pH meter and adjusting up/down a few points might make a difference.. I'd like to do it.
I never saw the table that bk had.. in fact I've seen some of his writeups.. but not this one. The table makes things relatively simple.. at least for me. It may not get me perfect results.. but, then again, I'm far from a perfect brew at this point... grin.
