Stainless drink cooler for eKettle

Post #1 made 13 years ago
Inspired by arzaman's creation in the electric BIAB area, I started wondering about insulated vessels for constructing my own braumeister clone (long way off, I'm sure). I had heard about these 60L stainless drink coolers on wheels used as mash tuns.

I wonder if this sort of vessel would work with weldless elements and skin fittings for a pump installed. I assume there's some styrofoam as insulation between thin layers of stainless. It'd need longer legs as well. I thought this was food for thought and that I'd might has well share...

Hi there Cameron :peace:,

I saw this thread this morning and I suspect that everyone is thinking the same as me (and you)... "How can I put a tap into this vessel?"

I don't think you can.

Thinking out of the box though. Why does a 'Braumeister' clone even need a tap? You have to use a pump so what's the problem with sucking from the inside of the kettle instead of the outside?

A tap-less 'Braumeister' might require a stronger/different type of pump but it may also have some real advantages that no one has even bothered exploring. The obvious one is that there is no tap to clean but there are many more I can see.
