No-Chill Cube Storage

Post #1 made 13 years ago
How long can you store wort in an airtight NC cube prior to commencing fermentation? I'm realtively conscious of removing just about all of the air prior to sealing the cube.

Does storing wort this way at fluctuating or high temperatures have any negative effects of the wort quality?

Im thinking of storing a variety of worts in NC cubes in a non temp controlled environment (ie a garage).

Many thanks again,

Grogmonster.

I'd have to label my cubes really well if I was going to store them for 2 years, otherwise I'd have no idea what it is meant to be, other than beer.

Properly stored wort will last long enough for most of our needs. I have never stored it longer than a week or so. I will be brewing up a wort soon to store for 90 (or so) days. The reason I am doing this is because I will be brewing up the same (exact) wort to ferment the next day. I will be fermenting both wort's side by side and having my mates sample and rate them. I have heard of people that rest worst in there no-chill container for 6 months with no ill effects. I am going to test this and see the differences? If anyone would like to join me than lets do so research!
tap 1 Raspberry wine
tap 2 Bourbon Barrel Porter
tap 3 Czech Pilsner
tap 4 Triple IPA 11% ABV

Pipeline: Mulled Cider 10% ABV

Yeh I'll leave mine in the cube for months at a time with no problems.I've still got some cubes of APA sitting on the shed floor from when Aces High was here a couple of weeks ago and they'll be there for a couple more weeks before I have time to pitch yeast .
