finally one of the gang

finally did my first BIAB a english brown ale (new castle clone), lots of fun, couple of issues knocked over my water as i was trying to relight the burner thankfully it was still cold. Had to go to the store get more water
got home started over and it started to rain :shock: Moved to the carport all good :D My burner has two burners decided to fry some fish for dinner ,talking to my son and lmost droppe a peice of breaded sea trout into the wort instead of the hot grease :shock: the came the after thought of trying to pour 5 gllons of hot wort into a no chill container it all worked out in the end :D 1st notch on the belt and many more to go :D

Congrats on your first biab, I just finished drinking my first keg of biab on the weekend and loved every drop!

Great to hear it was fun and games! I still have a laugh when I brew, probably because I now feel confident enough to have a couple of brews during the process, which I never did when I started out.

You will love that beer like no other. Keep a bottle aside to have in a years time if you can, and savour the moment.

As I write this, I have just found a year old bottle of Munich Dunkel I made, and it is more incredible to drink than when it was made.

I love being able to make my own beer, and BIAB makes it so simple, quick and comparable to any other system!

LOL :). Good on you jim and wizard. I hope you brewed more than you drank. (I used to have LloydieP and his old girlfriend around here on brewdays until I realised that even brewing two batches didn't cover what they took home in their stomachs. My goodness!)

It sounds as though you had your hands full jim but got there in the end. Next time (???) you knock over the water, don't worry about going to the shop for more. If your house water tastes okay, it should be fine for brewing most beers.

thanks guys it was easy and a blast can't wait to taste :D I def. plan on saving a bottle or two if i can keep all the new friends out of them :D
PP - i was using my uncles frier and it has two shelves on the sides that aren't really supported enough for 5 gallons of water :D no biggie made for good laughs
I have city water which comes straight from the florida aquifer then they add chlorine and chlorimine I have to hook up my water filter because buying ten gallons of water i getting old quick :D
