It works really well actually, little trap door in the bottom to light the burner and all. I had a bunch of leftover flashing from last summer when I redid my roof so I just bolted the pieces together. It actually made a considerable difference in heating time as well since all the excess heat from the burner is directed up the sides of the kettle. So much so that I scorched my bag a bit a couple brews ago, it was draped over the kettle handle while I was heating to mashout.

Forgot to report that the maple wheat does not taste like maple :nup: I also forgot to prime it with maple syrup like an idiot. Its a decent beer, nothing special really, although I get some comfort knowing I am drinking carbonated tree sap with alcohol in it haha.

I did end up doing the Belgian quad again as well. (all sap, syrup in the boil) And I made sure to remember to batch prime with syrup. Bottled a week ago today, gave it a bit of extended time in fermenter since the OG was 1.1 Ended up getting it down to 1.018, which is the top end of attenuation for the yeast I used, so pretty happy with that. Ended up 10.6 ABV, so a sipper for sure. Going to test it tonight, hopefully the yeast weren't too drunk to carb it. If carbed its going away until next year
