First AG brew day today with 40L electric boiler.

Chuffed to get a strong rolling boil without boiler mods and ended up with OG close to target, although ended up with much more wort volume than expected.

Looking forward to waking up to (hopefully) lots of FV bubbles o. The morning, but for now, a well earned beer!

Congrats on your first brew! Always good to get one done and sounds like it went pretty smoothly.

It would be pretty rare to hit all your targets on the first brew but if you've kept good records along the way then it will help you dial in your system for future brews.

No doubt this will be the best tasting beer you've ever made so enjoy!

Lessons learnt: check tap on boiler before brew (leaked), check new wort chiller (leaked), don't tell wife it only takes 3 hours! All smoothed over.

Ha! Especially on the 3 hour front! My wife knows that if in brewing it's for the day and any timeline I give her around a brewing related thing is out by at least a few hours.

Also doing a bit of gardening, mowing, playing with the kids during the mash can add a few brownie points! Another good reason for a 90 minute mash!
