1st BIAB small batch

Post #1 made 11 years ago
Hi folks,

Just did my first all grain brew today, got a 12l stock pot, managed to get about 9l and its now fermenting in 3 demijohns..... I got the base recipe from a book my son gave me for christmas, I used centennial rather than cascade 'cos that what I had in the freezer, think I went a bit overboard with the hops but then they have been in the freezer since December so thought they ay not be 100% fresh...
Turned out my efficiency must have been over 80% as at one point the gravity was 1065 :D I liquored it back (is that the correct term?) and eventually ended up with about 10l at 1055 OG. I added a couple of ounces of centennial in the demijohn as well......

Hi Blinky,

Good job catching that it was too concentrated and diluting the brew so that it turns out more like you wanted it. And congrats on the first BIAB!
