Thank you BIABrewer

First of all.. Thank You. Thanks to this great forum. Thanks to Pat for this site and the BIABacus. I am about 2 yrs and 15 brews into my homebrew hobby. After my first 2 or 3 extract brews, I went to small batch BIAB in my 5 gal pot on the stove top. After getting kicked out of the kitchen, I mashed in a cooler and graduated to a 15g brew pot. About 10 brews later, I found out people were "BIABing" in their big brew pots! It took me a couple more brews until my wife sewed me up my full volume bag and here is the photo evidence of the trial brew day.

The best part of all... this has been my smoothest brew day. And I hit ALL of my numbers, just as the BIABacus had set out. VIB, pre boil gravity, VAW, VIF, OG and KFL were all spot on! Maybe it will never be this smooth again, but I'm happier than a flea on a dog. Thanks again and when I have something of value to share here, I will definately be giving back.

Safebrew.... Good on ya !! Mighty nice looking brew! Yes BIAB is truly the way to go. Don't stress so much on the numbers right now. The process is the most important thing in the beginning . We can make adjustments later . We are all here to make better beer . :champ: :champ:

I read this before I headed off for work this morning 222. Thank you.

Whilst many hidden hours of thought and time go into the site trying to get a structure and tools that will flow and be intuitive for all users, the first level of praise needs to go to the members here that really read and concentrate on giving quality answers as best as they can and knowing that I or someone else will jump in if they get anything wrong :).

The second level of praise should be given to those brewers who realise that there are many threads here that they can contribute to, even without having any brewing experience. Whether it be welcoming someone in the "My Firs Post" thread or just saying, "That's excellent," when someone posts a pic of their first brew. These things are very important to those brewers and me. I hate it when I see a new, enthusiastic brewer go unacknowledged here. It is the antithesis of why this site was created.

Please 222, be more active here and welcome new brewers or pass on any knowledge you have gained. You don't need to have confidence in your brewing skills to do that but now that you do, go for it :P,
Pat

Thanks for the encouragement, Pat.

BTW, I loved the interviews you have done on Basic Brewing. Sometimes hearing all this stuff is what makes it make sense.

Anyway, all of you have quite a site and I will become more active.

safebrew222,

The hardest part in BIAB brewing is deciding which new recipe to brew. After that, it's a piece of cake! It's normal for we (Milwaukee Brewers) to brew good beer (It's in our blood, literately!) Brew on brother!
tap 1 Raspberry wine
tap 2 Bourbon Barrel Porter
tap 3 Czech Pilsner
tap 4 Triple IPA 11% ABV

Pipeline: Mulled Cider 10% ABV

I wonder how equivalent it might be to Janet's Brown Ale. Janet was Tasty's wife and a friend of Jamil. Award winning Brown Ale.. and a very popular sale item at More Beer..
