   Hello there
   I am a guy looking to migrate permanently in Melbourne and the most serious problem is my homebrew supplies :-p
   Seriously.... where do you people in australia get your malts and hops.
   Do you buy locally or webshopping is the only way.
   Also any help with info for migration issues is highly appreciated.

   Hi all
   I have been working overseas but should be home in 3 weeks and would like to do my first brew.
   I really have no idea what would be a good recipe to start off with. After getting sick of K and K brews i have been enjoying export cans, so i was thinking a larger would be good. However i will only be home for 2 weeks and believe that largers need a longer fermenting time at lower temps? So maybe a larger would be out of the question. (unless i could leave one fermenting for 5 weeks then get...

   I have been stuck at work with no net, should be home to crack the first brew end of this month, can't wait.
   Looking forward to getting the 2nd brew on and get those numbers correct this time.
   Will be alot more careful with the weight and water measurments this time.

   best part of homebrewing is the self-sufficiency and non-dependancy. so I want to increase both of these by acquiring a mill for crushing grain, as I buy all my grain in bulk. there are a lot on the market so thought some personal opinions might help.
   
   the mill im looking for obviously has to crush grain suitable for brewing but also want it to be adjustable so it can also be used for grinding flours.
   
   it has to be robust, non flimsy and this goes for the clamps (no table tennis net clamps!)....

   I have the original MashMaster mill with 70mm rollers but I don't think these are available anymore :sad:. This is a two-roller mill that does a beautiful crush due to the large rollers. It could be worth emailing Frank at MashMaster to find out if there are still old ones available or if they are coming back? The current ones seem to only have 38 mm rollers.
   
   If they aren't available, maybe a three roller mill could be the go? Don't skimp on a mill. Take your time to make sure you...

   The results from our brew day here will be available for tasting Saturday 2pm on July 7.
   
   What we thought we'd do is triangle taste the two beers say from 2pm to 4pm at my place and then head down to Fremantle to sample a paddle or two at a few of the pubs down there.
   
   Everyone's welcome but let me know in advance so we can give you some addresses and contact details.
   
   If you have a beer you want others to taste, bring it along ;).

   Glad you liked the beer, it just goes to show how much you can abuse a beer and it can still turn out tasty.
   
   Still working on that brewday or drinking day. Got the Mrs' birthday coming up in october so I am building up stocks for that at the moment.

   Hunter United Brewers are pleased to announce that they will be hosting the NSW Amateur Brewing Championships for 2011. The competition will be the NSW qualifier for the AABC in Adelaide in October and will be held over the weekend of 27th & 28th August, 2011 at the following venue;

    I'll be letting the BIAB team down severely in a few days at the Royal Perth Beer Show. Enter every year so as I can go to the exhibitor's tasting :drink:. Usually don't let the team down but this year I have two hazy, green beers that are both out of style/ I'll be seriously lucky to get half marks on those buggers.
    
    So, that's my effort for the year. Go me! :lol:

    Thirsty & Spills are at it again, putting on one of their famous BIAB demos at Grain and Grape in Melbourne. These guys have been doing these demos for quite a while now and are really turning this into a slick operation, also demonstrating the BIABrewer Calculator and handing out free stuff. If you're in town, of course it would be well worth swinging by and check out some BIAB old hands in action.

    It's very late notice as LloydieP and myself only decided this today but if anyone wants to drop around for a beer tomorrow, we'll be doing three double-batches. Should be chaotic :).
    
    Both of our fridges are totally empty so for the first time ever, I can only offer anyone that drops in a commercial beer. Sorry about that!

    LOL :). Can't believe none of you caught a flight :(.
    
    As Lloydie was feeling a bit under the weather we decided to split the workload. I drank and he did the work ;). While Lloydie was cleaning the kettles and chilling the third batch I was flat out singing along to my favourite tunes. Only one fermenter leaked - it had a pinhole in the tap which Lloyd discovered once it was full. He managed to change the tap all on his own as I was busy - singing.
