You are totally right on everything! I'll use your modified recipe for sure.
I've done some research on my old (three) brew done with the same setup, Volume Loss from Lauter was about 0,65/0,75 average, don't know where i get this (wrong) value.
Thanks joshua!
I drain it for 5minutes then squeeze the hell out of it!
Use the "six hands diabolic squeeze" technic , look here http://www.biabrewer.info/viewtopic.php ... 601#p52601, done this batch a couple of weeks ago.
Thanks, done this 2 weeks ago, beer was bottled 3 days ago. Fermentation went well, got target 1.014 FG in 7 days. Racked to another fermenter and dry hopped with 250gr of Cascade/Galaxy, tried to purge fermenter with 16gr Co2 cartridge to reduce oxygenation....probably worthless, what do you think ...
Density measurement (1.060 instead of expected 1.056) http://i63.tinypic.com/210zgol.jpg gravity setup for plate exchanger, to get out wort at 68F / 20C degree. Got around 13,4G / 51Liters of cooled wort (as expected). http://i63.tinypic.com/33eiwx0.jpg Yeast rehydrated (3 x US-05 sachets), wort "ma...

Hi guys, first batch on new rig, E-biab setup with 4kw elements, automatic mash stirrer, everything wireless controlled via web, thanks to a Raspberry PI with StrangeBrew Elsinore Software (Credits to Doug for this!, Great piece of software!) Started Saturday morning with lot of doubts, will the wip...
Here's the biabacus file adjusted with 6liters dilution.
Recipe done to clear all malts and hop at home, target is a very hoppy APA (54 points OG, 50ibu, dry body) all in late hop addiction to smooth bitterness.
Really apprecciate your post PP! I've read the article two times, first on the fly and second time with more attention, making some test on biabacus at same time. Probably i need to read it again and again to master it...but i think i undestand two things: 1) doing full volume biab (as i always done...
Thanks for the inputs, i've read the other thread, very informative, thanks! :peace: So just to summarize: because i can't sparge right now, next best method is adding water before or during first part of the boil, and i can do this. If i choose to add water in the fermenter (not preferred method) i...
Hi, sorry if is an old debate...didn't find a clear answer. My rig is capable of 11-13g/44-50liters of finished beer, i need to do more . Can i make more beer concentrating the wort, with proper calculation of efficiency reduction, IBU, color darknening, etc. and adding simple water (boiled and...
Thanks guys, i was really scared from past experience about heating elements during mash, if stirrer was not good enough for the task, plan B was to add a pump. PistolPatch: the big pot is a bitch to clean! I hope one day to make some CIP system! Next week will do another batch, i'll let you know! A...
To insulate the pot i've used on the bottom a wood panel, covered with a cork layer, on the sides, heat reflective radiator panels, fixed with "automotive straps" http://i66.tinypic.com/6s7tdy.jpg Final pictures, and video (sorry in italian!) of wet test with 19g/73liters in mash and 15g/58liters in...
Here the elements, custom made in italy, Aisi 321 Stainless Steel body and 304 top cap, Ulwd (7w/cm2) so i don't have to worry a lot about scorching the wort again :peace:, fixed in place with washer and locknut, filled with high temp (200° c) food grade silicone, specifically for wine, beer, milk t...
Here is the cage, made with 0,8mm sheet, soft enough to be hand bended, hard enough (once fixed with screws) to hold the bag in place. manufacture is not perfect, in fact cage "swell" in the center, but nothing impacting functionality http://i63.tinypic.com/ng1tae.jpg Everything assembled for testin...
Hi, first sorry if some phrases or words doesn't sound right, is difficult to explain technical things in english! after a year working on it, finally complete my Electric Biab setup, 100liters pot for 14g/52liters of finished product, dual 2kw elements with auto/manual control panel, electric stirr...
Sorry for the pics intensive discussion, instead of doing a step by step thread i've waited to check everything is ok and post it when sure it was working. Here a video test of the panel (sorry is in italian), it show in the first part manual mode (stirrer on and off, stirrer speed regulation, volta...
Working on it i found a problem, box wasn't deep enough to mount inside all the items, so i've add at the rear of the panel a electric box in which i've put power supply and 5v stepdown regulator. I've sanded and sprayed the panel, but paint is not good....worked on it after that and lots of paint c...
a bit of flex/dremel work made by my father, i'm not that good with flex/solder/dremel  Holes for the power outlets, some cuts on the box, after that an aluminum panel will be mounted on the front, with all switches, led, etc. http://i65.tinypic.com/jrww2c.jpg Here the ssr section, similar to e...
Hi Guys, first sorry for my english, i'll try to write at my best  . After one year messing on it, finally finished the brewery control panel, it will work on 26 gallon/100 liters (14g/52l of final product) Electric Biab setup with automatic stirrer. Panel is dual purpose, most exciting charac...
Hi, after reading here and there bad stories about recirculating wort with a pump in a ebiab system, i would try to add a stirrer like yours, do you think, after all this time, is working right? My system is 100% complete, but i have a basic controller for elements and manually stir during temp ramp...
Thanks Thughes, I've readed carefully your posts about pump problems, and i'm a bit worried about it....however i've to find a solution, stirring during temp. ramps is a pain. I've seen these little pumps (solarproject) that output from 6litres/hour to 11 l/h, maybe i can fine tune one of this to do...
