I can honestly say I haven't had that problem yet.... Well... It's been cooled and added to the original wort. Put it in the fermentation chamber to cool some more. Will pitch in a couple hours. Fingers crossed, lesson learned.

That's great news! I'm over here freaking out haha. I'll steep, boil, and add to fermenting bucket before the pitch. Beginner's mistake!

It never fails...

Something always goes wrong.. Here's the grain bill for a little recipe I am brewing at this moment. 5 gallon batch.

5 lb. maris otter
1 lb. Mild malt
.5 lb. Chocolate malt
.5 lb. Honey malt


I forgot to add the chocolate and I am just about mid boil.... Any way to fix this?

I have an 8 gallon kettle at the moment. I found mesh bags that should fit inside the pot and over the sides. My question is: Can I brew a 5 gallon batch in this pot comfortably?
