BobBrews, thanks for the encouragement. I have to admit that I usually can't remember any of these numbers long enough to clean off my refractometer much less until end if the brew day. Thank God for the Brew Pal app for iPhone. I would be lost without it.

The rest of the day went just fine. After boiling for an hour my gravity was at 13 P and I cooled it off as usual. I oxygenated using a disposable tank for the first time. I then pitched my 1.5 L starter and she's off to the races. It was already bubbling this AM and is starting to get pretty vigoro...

So far so good. Mash went well. Hit pre-boil gravity right on at 10.4 P. Right now, boiling away.
