How long can you store wort in an airtight NC cube prior to commencing fermentation? I'm realtively conscious of removing just about all of the air prior to sealing the cube. Does storing wort this way at fluctuating or high temperatures have any negative effects of the wort quality? Im thinking of ...
I have just brewed my first Robust Porter and have pitched Wyeast 1084 Irish Ale. 24 hours since pitching, the primary fermentation is the most active I have ever seen - Its about to blow the airlock! The krausen is being forced up through, and out of, the airlock Has anyone else experienced an over...
Brendandrage, Check out ebay for your burners under "LPG Gas Burners" as there are some reasonable prices to be found. There are also the the 4 burner frame aavailable at the moment to enable you sit your pot on top of. These are fairly hard to find and only pop up every now and then so could be a r...
Its a basically just a small kitchen fridge, it does have an insulated door. Im in Ausralia. It gets down to single digit temps out here somemost nights now and up to around 15-20C during the day. Do you think that I may get away without heating?

I have read that the belt can reduce/prevent autolysis as the yeast cake/trub is not heated from beneath. On the other hand I h...

What are your collective thoughts on mashing in by: 1. placing the BIAB bag in the kettle at strike temp and slowly adding grain whilst stirring to avoid doughballs; versus 2. filling the bag with the milled grain and THEN placing in the kettle at strike temp. I have o...
