      Just finished Hoppyness IPA and not as hoppy as I would have thought FG 1.013 SG 1.065 .Anyone made this beer ?

      PistolPatch recently noticed a similiar problem with recipes from Brewing Classic Styles. His conclusion is that the hop bill must be increased in these recipes for reasons explained in this post . The post also explains how to scale BCS hop bills to give a more appropriate bitterness level.

   2. Tap for Pot

      What is the best way get the wort out of the kettle at the end of the boil and keep the trub in the pot the profloc tablet works well but I still end up with all the crap in the fermenter,would a tap help ?thanks Phill

   3. Oat meal Stout EBE

      I have made the OM stout a few times now BIAB and my EBE is well below the 79.0% in the calculator best is 68 % should I worry ? I am not sure how to improve , but could I just add more grain ? Cheers .

      When I mash out I just apply heat after the 90min is up, leaving the bag in place but stirring all the time till the temp hits 76c. I then put the lid on and leave it for 10-15 minutes, after that its bag out as normal.
      Some guys lift there bag off the bottom of there kettle with a pulley system and tie it off so they don't have to stir.

      My Oat meal Stout has Stalled at 1024 after 9 days at 20 C SG was 1060 suposed to be 1018 , what should I do ?

      if you where shooting for 1018 and hit 1024, i would not worry about ti too much. let it sit another week and package it. it should be fine.
