      I'm a couple of BIABs in and starting to get the hang of it. My first attempt I didn't crush enough, my second attempt I had an issue getting the bag out and lost a lot of good wort. I just put up a pulley system in the garage and waiting on my Barley Crusher to arrive (both are attempts to bring my efficiency numbers up a bit to a consistent 70%)
      
      So I'm thinking now about what a pain it is to lift the bag when I have to add heat to maintain my mash temp.

      Funny, I very recently asked the same question on another forum...but what I decided was to finally make a pulley system, which when I add heat I raise the bag to a pre-set height via to a cleat. I have photos for you to see.
      
      I asked myself why the heck do I want to always throw out big money to solve something, this year I sold off some of my equipment to make it more simply on myself, so why add another piece of gear on the hot side of the process. KISS it.

      Planning out my second BIAB batch based on a recipe I found randomly online. I searched for something similar to the Great Lakes Christmas Ale.
      
      Original Recipe:
      
      Size: 5 gal
      Original Gravity: 1.077 (1.000 - 1.100)
      Terminal Gravity: 1.019 (1.000 - 1.100)
      Color: 12.19 (0.0 - 50.0)
      Alcohol: 7.67% (0.0% - 10.0%)
      Bitterness: 21.0 (0.0 - 50.0)
      
      Ingredients:
      12.0 lb 2-Row Brewers Malt
      .75 lb Midwest Wheat Malt
      .75 lb Crystal 45

      online resources basically say 1 pound honey = 1.007 so you can estimate what your taarget gravity will be with that. I think you meant 1.037? If not, you should check your resources :shock: How to Brew says 1.038.

      Definitely 1.037 = one pound in 1 gallon water

      My title is a bit misleading because I haven't actually purchased my kettle yet but I'm excited to get to work.
      
      I used The Calculator to mock up a Sierra Nevada Porter clone that I've been looking at doing as my first BIAB batch which has a grain bill of around 11 lbs.

      If even remotely think you might out-grow the 10gal pot in the future, and you have permission :clap: to spend the money, they I would recommend buying the 15gal kettle now. I think prices between different kettle sizes are reasonably comparible so you might as well pay a little more now and not regret it later down the road and end up buying the bigger kettle in the end.
