      How accurate are the estimated efficiency numbers?
      
      I've brewed 4 beers so far and I've been fairly close to the estimated numbers in each of the brews so far. I've made beers from about 1.040 to 1.060 in OG. Right now I'm working on a Tripel recipe which is much bigger OG (going for 1.085 or so) and grain bill than I have done before. From what I understand, BIABacus adjusts estimated efficiency depending on some factors. In this case, efficiency went down and I'm assuming due to grain amount...

      Rickoles - I would if it were cane sugar that hadn't been opened (They tend to be hygroscopic)!
      Corn sugar, or other forms that have some moisture would have to be either adjusted/calculated/guessed at accordingly too as they will all have their own extract potential.
      
      Thinking aloud - I would guess the best way to quantify would be to make a solution and measure the gravity....
      
      Or just throw it in and see :lol:

      This is my second BIAB. I hadn't tweaked the spreadsheet for my losses and grain efficiencies (since I messed up on recording information for my first BIAB. So I missed my OG by quite a bit, but just went with it for now since this is a learning batch. My measured OG was 1.042 instead of 053. I figured that this was due to my equipment having a lower boil off rate and mash conversion efficiency. Thoughts and comments are appreciated.
      
      I brewed on 8/30/2015 so it's been bubbling away nicely in...

      Sounds Great, Biabacus will only tell you Volume Problems and lets you adjust your Brewing Conditions.

   3. Transfer via funnel?

      I used to ferment in a plastic bucket but for awhile I have preferred a glass carboy. I have used a funnel to transfer the cooled wort from the brew pot to the carboy and I pass it through a mesh strainer to catch some of the trub.
      
      I have seen a lot of people talk about using a siphon to transfer the wort. I have heard about risks from aerating wort that is still too warm but are there other issues I should be concerned about?
      
      I should note that my beers have had good flavor and I haven't...

      Yep, the Silicon Hose is great, just use gloves to control it.
      
      Hot Side Aeration is a Myth!, You will collect MUCH more air into Hot Wort than Cold(which is what we need).
      
      The time it takes for the Wort to Cool, will not Oxidize the wort, Unless you cooling over 2 weeks, and continuously bubbling air into the Wort.
