      Hi!
      I'll brew my first beer in two days. I have a few questions about the measurement I will take in order to fill the BIABacus.
      I searched the forum for these answers but I really couldn't find everything I need.
      I know this is a lot but, even if I don't fully understand the meaning and the impact of every measure the BIABacus accepts, I'd like to keep track of all the things in the BIABacus.

   2. Kettle lid alternatives

      Is a lid completely necessary for the brewing process?
      Any alternatives I might use to prevent dust etc. to get inside the kettle when we'll move the kettle to the sink for chilling?
      
      I know It's dumb to buy the kettle but not the lid!

      Not necessary to leave lid on during mash although it will do a lot to maintain temperature.
      
      I would go foil before a towel as there is just so much condensation a towel can become really saturated, heavy, clumsy. ... to get inside the kettle when we'll move the kettle to the sink for chilling? Just be careful if your keg is a stockpot. The handles on a stockpot are usually designed to lift the empty pot not a full one.

   3. Scoop materials

      What kind of scoop should I use?
      Should I go necessarily with stainless steel? Or wood is ok too?
      I have a plastic one that came with the fermenter but I don't know if it can take the heat of the pre-boiling and boiling phase.

      A potato masher style paddle is definitely the way to go.

   4. First BIAB buy list

      This is gonna be a long post, please take the time to help a first time brewer in need! I am about to purchase my first equipment to brew beer and I'm going with the BIAB method. I'm making this list to ask you some thoughts and opinions..I'd like to know if this list is complete.
      
      Sanitisation
      
      - (natural biodegradable detergent)
      - Enoidrosan: chlorine-active alkaline detergent/sanitizer

      Well it is very clear that I know nothing about the price of second hand freezers in Italy! I live in Australia and it is very different so apologies for misleading you there!
      
      When I say a double batch I get about 40L into fermenters and could get a bit more if I pushed it. The main limit to BIAB is the total mash volume so all of your starting water plus your grain. There are ways to increase this if you want to but it sounds like you are happy with 23L batches for now and the 50L will be...
