Is this Gas burner up to it?

Post #1 made 15 years ago
Hi Guys

Having done 2 brews on my electric hob (45cm pot, full volume 5gal batchs) and now having to stick the wall paper back with drawing pins :idiot: I'm looking for a gas burner so I can relocate to the garden.
I've found this one on the Tinternet, http://www.gasequipmentdirect.co.uk/Sto ... LARGE.aspx it looks like the Italian spiral I've seen mentioned in other threads/forums. Do you think it will do the job?

Quoted Output:18186Btu 5.33 kilowatts

Cheers

This calculator should give you a rough idea on heating times for burners, just input btu's and start/finish temps and it will calculate a rough time to get to that temp. It may help you decide if it is the right burner for you or not.
Cheers

Cheers for the replies guys.

I've just found another supplier who will do a 25000Btu Burner with hose and regulator for £41.00 which is pretty cheap. I've sent an email asking for confirmation,I'll post a link if its correct for you guys in europe who may be interested.

The link ain't the cheapest as you've to buy the hose and regulator. I've another supplier lined up who do a bigger unit including hose and reg for £41.00.

I've got to chase it up, been busy but should be on to it this week. I'll post a link later.

I've got that burner Yeasty and it works really well even for double batches. I'd prefer one like LloydieP's though which has an ignitor etc. It looks something like the first couple on this page.

These units are also quiet. If you want to stay friends with your neighbours, try and avoid the burners that sound like a plane taking off ;).
