With all the new year shenanigans still in full swing in some parts I thought it would be a nice idea to reflect on the previous year's brewing and set some realistic goals for the year ahead. It must be said that although I have learnt much, my own brewing activities have been all over the place.
So here are some goals/ areas of focus for the year ahead that should put me on the path to brewing some half decent ale.
1. I've decided that I'm going to bite the bullet and join my local brew club http://baysidebrewers.blogspot.com.au/ as I've sussed them out and they seem quite open to BIAB. So we'll see how this goes.
2. Keep the supply steady. Despite best efforts I've often found myself waiting weeks for batches to be ready do to a lack of organisation. This has often resulted in me drinking fairly young beer. The best beer that I produced this year was a Dusseldorf Altbier that I bottled and completely forgot about for 6 months. I think it's all in the ageing

3. Keep better records. I really do need to get into the habit of keeping better brewing logs that contain the correct measurements and readings.
4. Experiment with smaller batches.
and finally...
5. I going to try to become more proactive on here. I value highly the power of networks and communities and would love to give something back here however small that may be.
So what are your Brew Year Resolutions, let's hear them.
All the best, Lee
