Still 3 weeks left to join and if the newbies are any indication of what is to happen, I am worried :argh:. Bloody pleased that the first few weeks scores are only used in an end of season tie-breaker - hooray!!!

Bloody Cheese newbies   :shoot:...

I'm no psychologist Joco but I can guess why it was fun for you and not for me. It was fun for you because you not only beat all of us here on BIABrewer but you also beat every other player in the Cheesetradamus comp with your 9 points :o. Beginner's luck, obviously .
alymere wrote:I signed up while I was at work yesterday. Hadn't a clue what I was doing but I'm sure I'll pick it up, looks fun.
Another Cheese newbie who used the word 'fun' in their post . Rub it in aly... I would have had fun too if I had scored your 5 points instead of the big fat zero I got . (More seriously aly, welcome to Cheese mate and good on you for joining in. I hope you haven't joined just for the Winnebago :interesting:)

NFI? I always thought it was NFL and probably stood for something like National Football League but after seeing your post, everything makes sense now, it actually stands for, "No fuck'n idea." Right?

There was also that dog that beat you remember? (Forget I said that. I think that dog might have beaten all of us .)

All,

Thanks for helping me test out my changes and for playing. Next week we hope the team shows up to play? The preseason is for weeding out the "want to be millionaires" from the "soon to be millionaires" The leader of our team just signed a new contract this year. He will receive $110 million dollars for the upcoming 5 years. No bad for playing in a 16 (or more?) game season. As a team owner (stock holder) I am appalled at that, but if they win it's money well spent??

Next week we will do better. :peace: Remember that the preseason is 85%(?) luck so don't get too cocky. The people you expect to do something usually aren't playing much because they will be on the team and are to valuable to risk playing in a game that doesn't count! I better go and cross check the results now! Thanks again and good luck next week! :luck:

All,

The second Preseason game will be played Saturday night the 17th of August at 7pm Wisconsin time. It's the same time zone as Chicago. http://www.timezonecheck.com/

The program that I wrote for the game seemed to work OK. No complaints and everything went smoothly. The game sucked for the Packers after the regular players exited. There is a bunch of players not going to play Saturday. I will try to make that known to those who don't follow the team regularly or (Have never seem or heard of American Football)! :argh: Normally these Cheese players win it all?

The regular season starts on September 8th 2013 and then the points count towards the BIG, BIG prizes. I bought some of this years prizes as I purchased gas at the filling station. They were between the gum and breath mints.

Get your friends in before the regular season starts! Practice makes perfect. Prognostication is a gift that should be used! If you feel like you always had a gift than here is a opportunity to test it out! :drink:

Game 2 of the preseason is over. The first team was pulled out and the rookies went in. This game was actually fun because the rookies played as if their jobs depended on it! Oh right, they do! The Packer won by a score of 19 to 7. I must admit that the practice games are tough to pick because the stars are taken out before they get hurt and it's amateur night the rest of the evening. Next Thursday the Packers play and the stars will play into the second half. This is the best test of the regular players. The last game is a token game with almost the whole game played by the kids. they have to cut from 90 players to 75 on August 27th and to 53 on the 31st. On a regular game day they can only suite up 43 players of the 53 man team.

1 Joco with 4 points :champ:
2 PistolPatch with 4 points :champ:
3 Mad_Scientist with 3 points :interesting:
4 BobBrews with 3 points :sneak:
5 alymere with 2 points
6 lylo with 0 points :idiot:
7 Yeasty forgot to play? :drink: :drink: :drink:

Did I forget some one? It is late and I was sipping the fig and bourbon beer all night! :drink: :dream:

Edit: Princessava had 6 points she is my 8 year old grand daughter. She beat me! :dunno:
my four daughters beat me. :dunno:
I stink!

I won't make fun of anyone for low scores in the preseason. It's a 100% luck right now. I think Joco is one of you guys playing a made up person? It might work you know? Create a fake person and have the picks the opposite of yours (which are bad picks normally) and your made up person will get higher points? No one is that lucky (except my wife getting me?) :smoke:

I guess I will have too get after yeasty each week :?: I know yeasty is a busy guy but right now "Cheese" is a no brain'er. It's easy to make your picks right away and change them later. That way if you forget to (tweak) them. You still have picks in!

The program is working fine. Each week I improve something from the maintenance part of Cheese and it's easier to maintain. I will have more time to make choices. Not that it has helped yet? So maybe the sport part is lacking now but next week the regular players will play half the game and we will get a better idea as to how well the team is?

Oh hell! I can't help myself :argh: Lylo got nothing, nada, zip, naught, nill!

Joco,

If you know what a scout is than you know more than average! I am glad to have you here even if you work in football. The more the merrier. Right now the "cheese" is no more that a guessing game. The real expertise starts when the regular first string begins to play. I aim to have 30 points each week! Watch and learn grasshopper!

Bob you no talent hack!!! Trash talkin from your air conditioned arm chair ain't gonna get you squat.I have a halfmind to drive the Winnebago that I won last year down to your little rat nest and teach you a lesson. However with only half a mind I will never find you. I'm just layin in the weeds so watch out!!
AWOL

Lylo, :champ:

OK, I admit that I am a no talent hack! So you got me there. But..... I am a Good looking no talent hack! So that trumps everybody else on this site!

I know as well as you do that the preseason is just a crap-shoot when it comes with picking results. The regulars "barley" play and the rookies have no idea what is going on. But I needed the picking program to be tested out and I thank all of you for the dedication you all showed. Other improvements may be implemented but during the regular season I try to leave "well enough alone".

Remember that the game is on Friday the 23rd this week so make your picks today. The regular first string players will play into the second half this game and it is a grudge match to boot. So your picks may work out? After the game last year that the Packers clearly won but were granted a loss through the incompetency of the scab referees. The TV networks are showing this game nation wide!

So Lylo I have some new tires for your Winnebago but you have to win them fairly. Just remember I control the database and I am not adverse to cheating!

All,

Here is a reminder that the game is on Friday the 23rd.

So get your picks in!

This game may be more true to form as the real players should play into the second half. This is a good team and they want to prove that they can play with the big boys. Last year the referees were on strike and the replacement referees were bad. The guy that made the wrong call in last years game was drummed out of "amateur" football because he was incompetent! He cost the Packers the game and the nation was pissed! The strike was settled the NEXT day! The football commissioner would not reverse the wrong call. It may have cost the Packers the championship? :idiot:

Do your picks now! http://cheesestradamus.com/

I see Yeasty and Mally are in! :peace:

:luck: but not too much for this week

P.S. Lylo stole the keys of that Winnebago from me in the last week. I suspect it was through cheating :shoot:.
