Help with Blue Screen of Death

Post #1 made 13 years ago
I was gonna join some tech forum just so I could upload some dump files, but figured this was as good of a place as any. If anyone has the ability to read and interpret these, could you please give me some help.

We've been watching shows/videos through Amazon's website on our PC (Win 7, 64bit). On a pretty regular basis since we've started doing this, probably once every 2-3 days, I'll get a BSOD. More frequently the whole system will freeze. Driving me bat sh*t crazy.

I've attached the zipped .dmp files. Would really appreciate any feedback.

Sorry BBH, I'm not a Windows guy. It does sound more like a hardware related issue though (most blue screens are), either video card/driver or possible bad memory. Wish you luck!

I do have a good friend that owns a shop in Leroy (not too far from you, right?) that knows his stuff. If you need to take it to a pro go see Chris at BNS and tell him Todd Hughes sent you.

BrickBrewHaus,

Did you??
Defrag the hard drive lately?
Add any software? If so remove it?
Is your hard drive starting to fail? Back it up!
Use your install disk to "Repair" the operating system.
Just buy windows 8 and upgrade to replace the operating system.
The blue screen of death can be just a lose connection to software? Good luck!

Thanks for the recommendation Todd. I'm gonna explore my free options first. If that fails, I'll seek out a professional. In that case, I'll probably use your friend.

Thanks Bob. I'll look into those.
