Makeshift lid?

Post #1 made 15 years ago
I got a 20 gal brewpot for christmas but it didnt come with a lid  . This seems like it might be a big deal during the mass concerning temp loss. Has anyone made any makeshift lids that work good to maintain the mash temp. I was thinking alluminum foil but im not sure how temp resistant that will be.

Thanks

I cut mine out of a sheet of ply ...it was stuff I had laying around, but seems to do the trick. I also lined it with a foam gym mat (cheap from a discount shop) which I also use to insulate the kettle once mash temp is attained.

If your handy enough to jigsaw a circle its an easy solution.
