Hi all,

I'm from the west coast of Ireland and have been brewing for 4 years now. Mostly kits, kit hacks and extract. I thought I'd give BIAB a go in an attempt to make better beer and it hasn't disappointed so far. Four attempts in and I'm hooked. I'm brewing with a 33 litre boiler and I was looking for a way to increase my final wort volume when I stumbled upon this site and a write up about Maxi BIAB. I've browsed a few of the other posts and first impressions are the site is very informative and well put together. Can't wait to take a look at the calculator and really get stuck in.

Cheers,
Richie

A big hello to you, Richie71. This is the place to BIAB.
Check the post just above your first and after reading those, look for the view active topics link (second line of green text at the top of the grey section on all pages) and you'll find recent talk relating to how much you can fit in a kettle. There are limits, so accept them until the day you get a larger pot. Brew on!

Hi all, I'm from Argentina and I'm new to brewing beer, altough I've always wanted to do it, specially since I've been to the south where hops are grown and I saw how the people that live on the mountains make beer with the most basic equipment possible. I started to brew 40 liter batches in bags for a very small brewery, and I'm learning from books. Still haven't found a single book that talks about BIAB so I think this site is pretty cool!

Cheers,
Felipe

Hello, complete novice here from Scotland. I'm hoping to get into home brewing over the next few months and am reading up on as many things as I can. BIAB sounds like the way I want to go, though I'll probably start off with a couple of kits to get used to the process of sterilising all the equipment, bottling etc.

Hello I am from Austin, TX and have only been brewing for 5 months with 4 batches under my belt (extract batches with steeping grains). My first batch totally sucked and the rest have been getting better. I'm now interested in utilizing BIAB to make my brew better without the expense of upgrading to an all-grain setup. I came across this forum after listening to a podcast on the Beersmith website. I'm very excited to get my first BIAB session underway in the next week or two with my own recipe.

Cheers!

Welcome to the forum falcon161997 and Pandora

Be sure to share your experiences and let us know if you have any questions.

Pandora - you mean to brew over your spring break and not visit Panama City Beach :argh: New law goes into effect, no drinking on the beach, so it's best to just stay home and brew and drink, yay !!!

Hello back at ya, fatman. I trust that you will find your mini-BIAB results eminently drinkable in a few weeks. That is the hardest part of making beer - the waiting. If you have questions when you get to packaging or after yet another waiting period, this is the place to ask. Brew on.

That's fantastic Zach :salute:,

Great first post in many ways. It can be hard to get your head around full-volume brewing if you have three-vesselled (I was lucky, I got in early), so it's always a buzz to see a multi-vessel all-grainer jump into single vessel with enthusiasm.

Post your basket plans up for a double-check.

Welcome aboard,
PP

Hello everyone. Just want to introduce my self. My name is Justin I live in Edmonton Alberta Canada in a 2 bedroom condo. And every so often my girlfriends lets me convert our kitchen into a brewery. Lol. I've been brewing now for about a year and a half. Skipped the extract phase and went straight to all grain via BIAB. I'm currently in the middle of building my new system, but right now I'm running a 13 gallon kettle full electric. Once I get my new system I will show some pics and more stories.

So you live in a Polar Hootch in Alberta...have multiple girlfriends, let them run the show, but don't quite let them run the show...but pretend you do... Now that sounds smart... :-)

Please do show pics of your operation. And best of luck. Let us know if you have any questions.

Hi everyone. Brewing here in Worcestershire, England. After a couple of years of extract brewing, I did my first BIAB a few weeks ago, just waiting patiently to taste the results! I've got a basic set up of electric boiler in plastic bucket, along with a small wort chiller.
Looking forward to learning more...
