Hello, my name is Darin. I have been brewing traditional 3 vessel all grain for 4 years. I have an all electric herms brew stand. I wanted to simplify my brew days, so while searching on HBT, I found your wonderful site. I have done one successful eBIAB, it was a pale ale I have done several times, it turned out just fine. I am now building a dedicated eBIAB rig. Hoping to brew again soon.

Hi from New Zealand

Brewed a few kit/extract brews but want to step up and BIAB looks like the ideal way to make a good brew.
Do not have any equipment apart from my old fermenter and few bits and peices so slowly but surely will research on here to get best pot and burner for my money etc

Hello all,

My name is Luc, I am french but I live in Japan, I am a chef and restaurant owner. I have never brewed before but after 5 years here I cannot take it anymore, most japanese beers are more akin to soda than anything else... I was born in the Alsace region of France, a traditional brewing area, and from a fairly young age I was introduced to good beer and wine. even though most good breweries in Alsace have disappeared over the last decade, but that's another subject.

I particularly enjoy german beers from breweries such as Spaten, Bitburg, Rothaus, Weihenstephan but also beers from Staropramen, Budvar etc. and I also like Guinness very much.

I am currently waiting for the delivery of a "Brew Cellar" starter kit with which I ordered 2 malted kits that come with additional malt extract and hops, hope it will work out. The final aim though is to do all grain but as I do not have a lot of space I reckon BIAB is for me.

So I guess my first all grain batch will be for the near future and I look forward to exchanging with all of you guys, in the meantime cheers,

Luc

OILGUY,

Welcome to our site. I had a few blow up (Wine on the new rug) myself. Perseverance and help from this site set me on the right track! I still have a few buckets erupt now and then but I keep them away from anything stainable!

Hello, Neil here. I'm in the Indiana USA. I am currently an extract brewer gathering information to move into biab. I'll be making my own controller to make my kettle (keggle) all electric. Thanks for the great site.

Howdy! John from Victoria ... Minnesota (US). I've been brewing with my neighbor for about 1.5 years, all grain for about a year. While I like social brewing, he is moving so I needed my own setup. My laundry tub is in the basement so I chose an electric setup. Didn't have the space for 3V but BIAB fit my requirements. I've been lurking on various sites for ideas and pulled many from theelectricbrewery, instructables, highgravity, and this site.

After 7 months of planning and building, I finally got to use my electric BIAB rig last night! Brewed Midwest's Hopstache Black IPA - kind of a big beer for a first run with a 15.5lb grain bill, but you know, go big or go home. OG supposed to be 1.070 - 1.076 and I hit 1.071 - I'll call that a success. From start to lights out was a little over 4 hours. Things I liked: silent heat, brewing inside where it's 68 degrees, 1 pot to clean, hop sock! Opportunities: condensation (it was raining out of my ductwork), PID wouldn't go over 210 (probably a setting), cleaning instead of watching.

Thanks for all the ideas!

Watermelon, Vic and Natan...

Welcome to the forum. If there is anything we can answer for you to get the best experience out of your brewday and out of your homebrew, just ask. Everyone here is helpful and puts tons of thought into their responses. Cheers!

Hi, James from New Zealand.
New to home brewing, but love beer. So far I have done one kit beer and it has come out pretty drinkable.
I have an extract beer (Pale Ale) in the fermenter at the moment and plan to put down an all grain beer soon.
I have most of the necessary gear now to do BIAB with a boil pot and BIAB bag etc. Will decide on a recipe soon (thinking black IPA) and order grains etc.
Looking forward to hopefully making a few nice brews and probably will be asking questions ;) Already playing with BIABicus

Hello!

I'm Daniel from Sweden and I stumbled upon this forum in my search for information on BIAB brewing.
I've been thinking about brewing my own beer for a long time and me and a colleague are finally about to make our first batch. No previous knowledge in brewing other than making fruit/spiced wine.

I'm an engineer working with product development and in my free time I build instruments and play guitar.

Looking forward to become a part of this community.

Hi all,

I've just registered with the forum after 'having a go' at my first BIAB. I'm from Northern Ireland and have to balance the significant demands of three children under 5, a job, a wife that doesn't want me to have another hobby and everything else that life brings. Therefore, BIAB seemed to be the best option for me to try and jump into the world of home brew. So as to keep the costs down, my first attempt has been a small 5 litre batch. I've learnt a lot from the experience but know I have so much more to learn, I hope that you can all help me! Oh, I also hope that my first poor attempt at BIAB is drinkable!!

kristoff,c_squared,

Welcome to our merry group of miscreants. BIAB brewing is the answer to every mans dream of finding a place to hide away from the world. The problem arises that we become more popular and people seek us out to drink our beer! Take the good with the bad!

Hello there! I'm Dunkel living in Dublin, Ireland. I started brewing back in the early 80s, when all we could get was Goldings and Fuggles and bakers yeast (well, in England, anyway). I moved on to brew for a couple of microbrewweries in England, and a couple of the pioneer micros in Ireland, then gave it up when they closed :headhit: Started again about 18 months ago with kits, then extract (so much better than 30 years ago ;) ), and have been experimenting over the last few weeks with BIAB. I'm a member of my local homebrew club - Capital Brewers in central Dublin - and the national homebrew club in Ireland. So looking forward to the adventure!

Dunkel,

Welcome. The adventure of a lifetime is just a brew bag and a pot away! Don't smoke the pot, brew in it! I had to make that clear. I was a teenager in the 60's. Sometimes I get confused? :argh:

Hi from Dublin,

first post here and after a couple of partial mash brews and have learned a lot but I'm looking to start BIAB when i get my hands on a suitably sized kettle and mash bag - i only have a 14 litre stock pot at the minute and my mash bag is abut 20 x 20 so hoping to get a 33L or 50L and suitable bag by Christmas to go all grain (out in the cold!). I'll have good search of the threads here now to see what gear would suit best - i'd prefer to get it right first time.

looking forward to learning more

B

Hi All,

Posting from sunny Scotland.

Was directed towards your site when I was googling on how to progress from doing beers from kits.

I am relatively new to brewing but realised quite quickly if im going to do it im going to do it properly and it seems BIAB is the way to get involved without spending a fortune so here I am.

Forum looks great and looks to have so much useful info cant wait to get started.
