Hi all, I'm in the UK, have been kit brewing for 6 months and have been tempted by AG however BIAB seems a much better way for me to go. I have already started adding to my kit with a 40l buffalo boiler, a few more bits and a recipe and I will be ready for my first foray. This forum is a godsend, a load of really useful info.

Hello All. I'm from Kent, UK. I've been doing some kits and now want to make the switch to BIAB. I'm currently dithering over what equipment I need (mainly pot and bag) and will be hoping to get some good advice from all the experts here. Cheers!

gjs,

Once you get a pot and make (buy) a bag, all you need is time an patience. Sobriety is not an option!

I'm looking forward to starting BIAB with an electric urn after a year+ of extract & partial mashes.. just got to convince the missus to green light the start-up cash!
It's a great resource here, found after talking to another customer in my LHBS. cheers!

flingalimb,

Good luck convincing the missus :luck: It's no fun drinking a homebrew when the missus is not happy! If Mom is unhappy everyone is unhappy. Lots of good help here if you want to go eBIAB. Read and remember or ask and learn.

Edit spelling! Thanks Mally :salute:

I love spell checking but not when they change the words!

Bob - Is that conceive or convince?
Probably neither but a Freudian slip?

Hey everyone :salute:

So, I'm a relative novice home brewer with about 5 extract brews under my belt since last December 2012. Between my friend and I we both have aspirations of turning this hobby into a full time job sooner or later. :headhit:

As of now, I'm investigating moving from extract brewing to BIAB and All Grain, and looking forward to upgrading our equipment to cope with the extra requirements for steeping and mashing.

G'Day ya'll.
I'm a complete noob to homebrewing. Have almost acquired all the equipment neede to begin. I'm located in Kansas, US. I'll be brewing in a 28L keg. Great site. Plan on BIAB as soon as possible. I'll have a lot of stupid questions. Patience please.

Hi

I'm from Tasmania Australia.

I have been an extract and partial mash brewer for a few years looking to make the change to BIAB.

I have a Coopers set up at the moment and currently looking to what gear I need for BIAB.

Sorry for all the stupid questions that I will no doubt ask along the way.

Cheers

Everything you need to know has been asked and explained "somewhere" on this forum. Seek and you will find. If not? Ask! There are no dumb questions, only dumb answers!

Hello,

New member from Indiana.

Fantastic site, great info! Looking forward to BIAB as a much simpler all grain method than 3 vessel.

Any Little Creatures recipes to check out?

Post #3617 made 12 years ago
Indieg,

There is no difference in recipes. All work for BIAB. If there is a difference it's in that you spend less money to get started, spend less time cleaning and working. More time resting and drinking home brew. Google this ( little creatures recipe home brew ) you will get pages of recipes!

Welcome aboard Indieg :salute:.

I live a little over a mile from Little Creatures. John Palmer apparently said that Little Creatures Pale Ale was just like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, only better." :)

Well, I don't know about that.

LC and SN have to constantly juggle hops for a start. (Big mainstream beers usually hop with hop extracts as far as I know - it's a different ball-game.) That's why when you taste a LC or an SN it will never taste exactly the same from batch to batch. The brewer tries to give you the same beer each batch but each batch is unique.

Over time you will notice differences. LCPA (to me anyway) is now a lot smoother (less harsh) than it was four years ago. Now, it is a lot closer to NRB's All Amarillo Pale Ale recipe. (Mind you, there are four different types of hops that might be used in LCPA that I know of. Sometimes only two might be used in a batch. It's a very skilled juggle that depends on availability, storage etc etc...

I'm not very good on describing beers but the essentials of a good LCPA for me would be that it has a bit of bite (but not too much) and a heap of passionfruit flavour and aroma. NRB's All Amarillo Pale Ale is the easiest recipe I have found along these lines.

Greetings from Philadelphia, PA! Came across this site via Reddit's r/homebrewing as I prepare to get into all grain brewing, with about 10 extract batches under my belt. Site looks great so far, and there seems to be a tremendous wealth of knowledge here.

I'm currently working as a professional photographer. Got a busy household at home with a wife, who is a first grade teacher, and a rambunctious 2-year-old!

Hi everyone!

I'm tbeats and I'm from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. I am planning on making a keggle very soon and I heard about this site on Home Brew Talk. I think it's a great resource and I look forward to brewing my very first all-grain BIAB batch! I am a recent college graduate and I look forward to having for time for brewing, but lately I've been doing partial-mash kits from the local homebrew shop, The Noble Grape. I look forward to contributing, learning, and making better beer!

Cheers!!!!
