Nik, thanks for posting your feedback on the conical. Often you only hear positives about them but the space consideration is really important especially if you want to fit them in a fridge.

BTW, we checked out those plastic conical fermenters here too. they have those "ears" that you hang the fermenter by. the "ears" are hollow and seemed like a good place for the nasties to hide out in.

From the first look that seems to be the case with the "ears" .When I used it for the first time I discovered that the matterial is quite different than the plastic fermentors we are used to work and it's somehow "slippery" so with a good rinse and a brush all the nasties go off easily.
