johnodon - mudd,

Welcome to the madness. BIAB (pronounced bye abb) is the relief to the 3V (3 vessel )cleaners and the savior to the people that wanted to go AG (all grain) but were afraid to start! I was a three vessel cleaner (what a pain) but I saw the light and now brew BIAB exclusively. There are tuns of material here to read but some simple "how too's" to make it an easy start. welcome again!
tap 1 Raspberry wine
tap 2 Bourbon Barrel Porter
tap 3 Czech Pilsner
tap 4 Triple IPA 11% ABV

Pipeline: Mulled Cider 10% ABV

Hello, names Troy and I live in Orangevale, California just outside of Sacramento in Norcal USA. I have been extract brewing for about five years now and BIAB helped me make the transition to all-grain. I actually bought all the supplies (5 gal/20l cooler, valves, stainless braided hoses, etc.) for making a mash tun and was preparing to make it when I ran across the BIAB method on another forum that I'm on called Home Brew Talk. I did my first BIAB this past Sunday and it went really well. I got an extract efficiancy of about 75% so I'm hooked on BIAB. The site looks pretty good now that I've registered and I'm looking forward to learning and sharing with the brewers out there. It's cool that this forum is international. I'm going try hard to learn the metric system! Cheers!

Hi all - Myke here.

I've been brewing since 1994 (can kits) and 2004 (all grain). After stumbling around without the right equipment I accidentally came up with a brew in the bag method of my own, asking my partner to sew me up a mesh sack. It pleased me to no end to find on the net that this was already an existing method, and that I wasn't just crazy.

I look forward to learning from this site and to sharing ideas and recipes. Favourite beer style extra-hoppy pale ales.

Cheers!

Hi there everyone,

I've been brewing for about 7 years and haven't done any kit brews for the past 12 months after moving into our new house. But I'm getting closer to organising the garage set-up. And now I'm looking into buying some better equipment so I can try BIAB technique which seems to tick all the right boxes. Can't wait to star and the website is going to help along the way...

Hey,
My name is Paul I live in Mt.Martha, Victoria. I have been doing basic brewing for about 7 years on and off. I now want to improve my beers so I'm in the process of buying some new equipment and more importantly setting up the garage to start brewing all grain. This website is going to be a great help in the near future...

I've been extract brewing in Victoria, BC for a while and I've just purchased a kettle large enough for biab and I'm looking to make the jump to AG and BIAB and I have a feeling I'll never look back. For all you Aussies on this board, one of my favorite beers is LCPA and I spent a lot of time in the spring of 2001 drinking it in quantity at the brewery in Freo.

Hi from NZ. I've been kit brewing for a few years now and I am always modifying what I do. I've been keen to go AG and after stumbling across BIAB it now looks realistic for me. We only have one small HB shop where I live so I can see I'm going to have to work out how to get hold of some malt.
Cheers,
Hewie

Good day all!

Nice to have found such a wealth of information about BIAB. I thought I'd take the the time to introduce myself.

My names Tyson, and I'm a Canadian guy currently living in New Zealand. I'll be here for at least a year on a working holiday visa, and I hope longer. To make a long story short I met a Kiwi girl when I was living in South Korea a few years back, and we had such a good thing going I thought I'd jump the pond yet again.

I actually came across this site through the homebrewtalk forum, and I'm finding it to be a great resource. I'm pretty new to homebrewing, although I've given it a go a few times. Mostly I tried homebrewing when I was in Korea, as the local beer there did not really suit my tastes very much. Now that I'm in New Zealand I figured it would be a great opportunity to dive into homebrewing again with a little more success than last time.

I pretty much was dead set on just doing extract brewing again to ease into the hobby, but after finding a local homebrew shop here in Auckland that was promoting BIAB my interest was peaked. I started doing a bit of searching on YouTube and found some cool vids, then did a bit more research on homebrewtalk and then found the link to this site.

My username is not really meant to be cheeky at all... I've actually gone to University for Recreation and Leisure! Although it was a great time, and I worked some cool jobs career wise it wasn't really helping me achieve my goals. I went back to Uni and picked up a second degree in Community Health. These days I now spend my time working with Social Services, specifically working with troubled youth. I am however hoping to change stream and enter into health promotion.

Hobby wise I enjoy training in Judo and Aikido. I really like cooking, and specifically enjoy BBQ'ing. I recently just got into riding bikes again... the kind that you have to peddle and have discovered how utterly crap I am at it. But its helping me get fit again.

I'm looking forward to meeting you all, and making some tasty brews.

All hail to the fountain of width! :drink:

Hello.

My name is Johann and I live in Reykjavik, Iceland. I work as a development manager at a software company which is based in few countries.
I have had interest in beer for quite many years (I'm 39 years old) and the interest becomes stronger as the years pass. I learned about this site on an Icelandic brewing forum.

I have done some reading and I think the BIAB is the way to go for me. I haven't done any brewing before but I'm eager to learn the art and science of it here.

Hello everyone!
I'm from Boston, Massachusetts, US and 24 years old.

I have been brewing for a couple years now. Mostly extract brewing with a couple instances of partial-mash. I've wanted to get into AG brewing for awhile now, but money's been tight. I was really intrigued by BIAB because of its simplicity and time saving (for more brewing!).

I stumbled across the site after hearing about brewing in a bag on some podcasts and researching the topic on Google. The registration process has been a bit confusing so far. So many windows opening! Regardless, I do see the enormous potential in this site and really appreciate those who have gone to the lengths they have to get it to where it is. So much information!

I currently work a full time job mon-fri and home brewing as well as beer in general is most of what I think about all day. Just ordered a 47L brew kettle off Amazon, should be arriving any day now. Can't wait to start AG BIAB!!

Hey all,
I'm an all grain brewer from San Diego looking to save some time during the brew day. The wife frowns upon my 5.5 hour brew days. Looking forward to learning more about BIAB.
Thanks.

Hi all,
Bengerman from Kirkland, Washington here. I found this site through the HBT wiki.
I've been reading up on homebrewing for a year or so now, i've only managed one beer so far (extract) but i have also made a quick mead and a hard lemonade/lemon wine i've been looking into BIAB as I am on a fairly limited budget with a fairly limited brewspace.
right now i'm brewing stovetop in a 20 qt pot, hopefully i'll be upgrading to outdoors or the garage with a larger pot and gas soon. i'm hoping to get a BIAB session in sometime in the next week or so, so it looks like i'll be poking around here quite a bit for the time being.

Hi all, I have recently started doing BIAB, I moved from kits to extract and biab was the next logical step in where to improve my beers. Oh, I found this website through AHB, another great brewing resource.

Hi Everyone,

I'm from Ottawa Canada. Given that I started brewing 3 weeks ago, it goes without saying that I am a rookie. So far I have been researching and put down 2 extract brews. I am eager to learn more. After having a discussion with a friend regarding all grain brewing in a bag, I have been intrigued and look forward to learning this process. Based on my friends recommendation, I look forward to exploring this board.

Cheers
