Copper Brew Pot

Post #1 made 9 years ago
My boss says he has a 57 l / 15 gal copper pot.
1) Has anyone used a copper pot for brewing ? We have all read from the man behind the monitor , but , I want to hear from someone with experience using one.
2) How can I be sure it truly is copper? I have copper tiles on my kitchen wall ,but , they are not really copper !

Just want to make sure before I take it .

Yikes!
That doesn't even look old

Joe, the only help I can offer regarding checking if it is real copper; is that copper is non ferrous and therefore will not react to magnets. If it is an alloy like brass or bronze it will have either zinc or tin in it (brass should react to a magnet, but bronze won't).
Copper should polish shiny almost pink, and should react to acid as well. If there is any corrosion it will turn green.

:luck:
