Is it ok to leave a mash sit overnight and if I do should I still mashout?

I can't remember the details but I have read about people mashing overnight.
I'd lag your kettle a lot more than usual to try and keep as much heat in as possible.
A mashout the next day would definitely be on the books as well if I was to do this.

Okay, just did a google search. There are a lot of people that have tried this and have reported good results.
I'm interested in hearing your results if you try doing this.

Looks good HC, my brew tomorrow will be normal but I'll probably do my next one overnight having read some of that stuff, and I'll mash out

I've done an overnight mash, as well as a 5 hour mash during the day, it works fine and breaks up the brewday when you just dont have time to do it all in one go
