How well would this variation of First Wort Hopping work?
If I place my flavor hops (15 minute addition) into a hops bag, and add the bag to my mash, keep the hops bag in the kettle while I bring it to boiling, and then remove it at boil time, will i get similar flavor to those who do a first wort hopping while sparging?

Good Day Arclight, I have done Mash-Hopping, All you will get is the Bitterness. For Us FWH is as PP says, have another BIAB Bag(an Old one) ready to drop in as soon, as you pull the Mash bag.
If you want to FWH, make sure you calculate the Bitterness time from when you drop the hops IE. (10-15 minutes from mashout to boil, AND 60-90 for the boil(70-105 minutes))
There is a very little flavor over from the mash, BUT the left over grains have a great aroma, and the left over liquid from the grains does taste good.
I did not have much luck from Mash-Hopping, But, I am a fan of First-Wort-Hopping!!!!

I believe the problem with mash hopping is that the hop flavor is contained within the oils and those oils are filtered by the grain and left behind when you pull the bag/sparge therefore only leaving the bitterness to be transferred to the boil kettle.
I agree with Joshua, FWH FTW!

Ok, thank you for saving me from an unpleasant experience!
it sounds like First Mash Hopping doesn't work so well, perhaps because the oils stick to the grains.
I will add the hops bag after raising the mash bag.
Do you leave the FWH hops bag in until the boil, then raise it?
Or for the time it takes to reach the boil, plus the 60 minute boil?
