PP, while I wish we could get others to become more of a PARTNER in the homebrew process , most the OTHER sites are more of the look at me, congratulate me type of sites.
I have tried to steer some others our way ,but, sadly they ........ just want some recognition for a post whether it means something or is a number.
Sorry for my rant .......just ticks me off sometimes.
I just want to make better beer !!

Well said Hopster. I quit going to the other forums for the most part. Sometimes I check in but rarely post. The wealth of information here is outstanding! PP, Pat , and Bob go to great lengths and should accept the praise that the are due.

The thread titled Sewing a Truncated Bag is excellent work by Mr Jadkowski. I dont know if many noticed but Bionut has added some additional excellent work in post #24.

The excel spreadsheet he made will make the bag process much easier for those who are math challenged like me?

May I second Lumpy5oh's post.

I tool have added all of these Brewday measurements to BIABacus. There are a lot, plus the actions from Get the kit out, to Final wash up. It may take some of the spontaneity out of it, but I mess up less, and find a gentle comfort in just following my 'Pre Flight' list.

And it prints out nicely via the Print Report section, so I don't get sticky stuff on my iPad :)

Definitely worth thinking about for those still learning the ropes as I am

BIAB Recipes Forum, Title Very Misleading

If you go to the BIAB Recipes, it reads under the title, Share your favorite recipes here . If you go to that forum basically all you get are problems others are having with their process. Yes there are a couple of threads with recipes, but over 90% are issues with BIAB. If the title of that forum reads, BIAB Recipes, it should be just that.

Okie, I've refunded your second generous donation. I really appreciated it but, as far as possible, I want to avoid any single member doing more than their fair share. You just concentrate on getting home this week please.

I'm also not sure on this thread as it is quite out of character for this forum. On one hand it is easy to expect too much from BIABrewer.info or take it for granted and on the other hand, it is always great to get feedback on what users don't like. We have a bit of both...

As always on liquids your mileage may vary some. Also, grind will change the absorption rate. Always try to grind the same setting for consistancy. Boil rate will change if you use a propane burner also.
As far as To squeeze or not to squeeze , that is the question I personally have never had off flavors {tannins} due to squeezing the bag. I do also let it drain over a collender not the pot. Only change in flavor profile has been due to I brew outside and will pick up wild yeast due to spring...

I'm new to the site and I replied to a question concerning fermenting in a keg with no-chill. I have been doing this for over 2 years but my reply was deleted because it was contradictory to the advice given by the oldtimers-moderators. I thought this was a forum for the exchange of brewing techniques, etc. Obviously, I was mistaken. My bad.

I use Firefox and have my most visited sites on my toolbar

As there are so many, I edit them and just have the site logo on the toolbar (eg ebay, smh, whirlpool - soz for the AU nature there).

It seems that BIAB isn't playing with my rules at the moment (ie can we have a mini man on the chair icon for the site or grren box??). Is this an easy fix?? If not, no worries

Feedback for Atom feed and later on RSS feeds

The Admin has kindly arranged to have Atom news feeds enabled on this site, so that now you can get feeds automatically on your computer/phone without having to log in to the website to check for new posts.

At the moment it is Atom feeds, as they are the easiest to implement, but later on RSS feeds may also be included, so can we please give some feedback on that feature on this thread to help the Admin tweak the feeds?

As for myself, at the moment I find that I am given the choice when on...

hey guys,
i use MS Outlook for my RSS feeds.
When a new feed comes up, the header on the new RSS comes up with the posters name and what sub-forum it was posted in.
What do you think about changing this so that the header comes up the topic title and posters name instead of just the sub forum name?
I.E My last incoming RSS was BIABrewer.info and BIAB for New Members • Yeasty , Coule we set this up so it reads something like BIABrewer.info - Secondary fermantation/clearing - Yeasty ??
