We went to the Captain stirling Hotel and my mate Ad's got thrown for walking into the bar (and bouncing off apparently). I don't remember going to bed and Im pretty sure I didn't have any dinner...so a little bit of a messy ending

All in all it was a good fun afternoon.

So Saturday beers at Pats, Tuesday afternoon beers at my place and then show beers on Saturday, plus 2 lunches with clients (at the pub) and 2 tasting beers down tonight... I should be saying im all beered out, :nup: but what can I say, I love it   Thanks hosting Saturdays beers PP, ...

you need to play around and adjust the unit till you get the right grind. Now that its sorted it doesn't miss a grain and doesn't get too much flour. I've also mounted the unit on a board and encased the output in a plastic container to minimise stuff spraying everywhere. Its not perfect, but its ok...

Ive been running my corona mill on a non adjustable hammer drill for the last 3 years. I would say we're well into 4 hundred kg of grain in that time and it still works fine. I just screwed a bolt into the handle end and I attached the drill to it. It takes about 5 or so minutes to knock through 10k...

Ok, We're starting at 2pm at this Saturday PP PistolPatch Pats Place in Freo. It'll be the swap + some tasting + some general beer drinking. If you want to drop in and you don't know the address just send me a PM. Bring a few beers of your beers for tasting or a few commercial beers For the swap Im ...

You don't need to bother. Just fill and squash down as much as you can. I often only get 20L into the 25L cube. Just make sure you turn the cube on its side and over again so that all surfaces are sterilised by the heat. At this stage in the process exposure to the leftover air in the cube isn't a p...

You have to bottle ten beers Simo as there are only five of us in the Swap. Friday night is fine, just let me know what time. Aces is meant to post here about where we are meeting up on the 26th. Last time I spoke to him, we concluded it would be at my place. Aces, stop drinking and write the post ...

yep, ive got a pale ale that's more like a golden ale and my black IPA tastes more like a stout. Why is it that when you brew a beer for competition it all goes to hell. Both beers are Ok, but not as good as Ive previously brewed them. I'll just bring a couple of bottles of all 3 entries Sorry, I m...

Bummer Simo . Anyway, will look forward to seeing you when you drop your bottles around. Are you able to make it to the Royal Show Tasting? (I just found a later flight to change to that didn't cost a fortune .) PP [/quote] Nice work on the flight change PP, Im looking forward to the be...

I don't use a chiller, but if you are, you just need to give it a bit of a clean after you use it. You throw your chiller in the beer about 5 minutes before end of boil and by the time it comes out it will be nice and shiny. The boiling beer does the sanitizing.

Hi All, back from holidays and a week of unemployment due to being made redundant the day after I got back  I thought we better tie up what is happening with the case swap and who is coming along, I know the change in dates screwed it up for a few people. Is everyone still keen for an aftern...

Two things... Doogiechap dropped in for a beer last night, I told him of the Swap and he is good to go! If the actual swap thing is on the 26th, he will be able to attend that too . You decided on a date yet Stu? If so, if you go and edit your first post, you can change the date in the topic...

Yes, i can get it cheap, compared to starsan... Chemipro OXI is a compound of sodium carbonate and hydrogen peroxide, is that the same, or similar, to sodium pecarbonate? Sorry, i don't know chemistry at all :D Yep, looks like it. I just found this on Wikipedia. Sodium percarbonate Chemical Compoun...

I've read that is not safe to use with copper, aluminiun, silver or wood, but anyway, i have only plastic and glass fermenters and an stainless steel keggle. Also the recommended concentration is 5ml/10 litres of water at my supplier...that means 0.5ml/litre. The recomended contact time is 2 min, d...

I usually just spray the inside of the fermenter with a fine jet of water from the garden tap, this takes off most of the krausen layer. I then wipe the thing out with a microfibre cloth then give it another hose with hot water to rinse the crap out. I then spray the whole thing with idophore. Done....

ive used it for about 3 years and none of my fermenters are stained. Its great stuff you can spray it on anything without it reacting unlike starsan. The best way ive found it to get yourself a good quality 1L spray bottle. I think its 1ml per Litre (or something tiny like that), so you use very lit...

We could still do either the 12th of the 26th of October here, otherwise I'm still happy to go into the swap, you just have to find another location.

Im really sorry about this :sneak:
