Hi jrstephens65. I am assuming the recipe maybe gave some more details then what you have listed above, since there are no volume numbers that I can see. Unless you know the VAW for sure you may be better to use the IBU field under section D. If indeed this is all the info you have from the original...

Hi FatDog, the file is filled out well, so a few questions for you. First off, just in case, wanted to make sure you are using the amounts of grain on the right side of section C. How do you weigh your grain? Your mash volume looks a bit high, which seems to follow all the way through the brew. Extr...

Mally, I did Google it after your previous comment, and the few results I found were as you said when fermented cold some people had a slight hint of apricot. I have used it many times and never experienced this, however I have gotten apricot flavours from Amarillo hops, and the company that created...

The Munich 2 may make it very slightly darker, otherwise probly not a whole lot of difference I wouldn't think. I can't remember the colour specs for caraamber of the top of my head and can't view the file on my phone here but im guessing the differences in malt won't have a huge impact on flavour i...

If you follow the link I posted and read the description, one of the flavours they specify is apricot. Amarillo is one of the only hops I know of that is described to have apricot flavours. That was my point. :)

In Canada we have a 'brewer of the year' circuit that tracks results from the biggest bjcp competitions in the country, so I enter ones on the circuit since they are usually pretty legit. They also get a lot of entries so competition is pretty stiff. Prob...

Hmm, according to your file, you were very close with efficiency into boil and efficiency of ambient wort. This is good since technically on a perfect brew those numbers should be the same, however on this brew they should be much higher. When doing such a small batch size I would think little thing...

Be sure to fill out sections L and M as you brew. It's very easy to measure volumes with a ruler at any point you wish with the headspace calculator, I think it section U or V but can't recall and not near a computer atm... If you have any issues it makes it easier to troubleshoot when you record as...
