      Anybody used/seen one of these?
      
      They say it is like BIAB, but have labeled it K-Rims. You use 2 pots instead of one but you also mash with your full amount of water and recirculate it through both kettles then drain into the bottom BK.
      
      I have done something similar on a 3-vessel RIMS system where I made a pumpkin porter and used my BIAB inside the MashTun and recirculated through the RIMS (bottom of bag to the heat ex-changer and back through to the top of the bag) but not with the full...

      I'm currently using a BIAB with recirculation because it holds temperature so well, I don't have good insulation.
      
      I've built a BM clone its its no easier than BIAB and much harder to clean. After some months unused the pump was still wet inside, I like my kit clean and DRY before it is stored.
      
      I also had a Brutus 20 which is the system on which the BrewEasy is based it was easy to use and surprisingly easy to clean, IMHO not significantly harder than BIAB.

   2. Calculator and Efficiency

      So I have done 5 recipes now with the calculator and on each one I have been over my target OG by ~10 points consistently. The brewlength has been correct for all of them. I have the efficiency set at 80% should I be raising it?

      I bumped it up to 83% for the last couple of brews and have been pretty close to expected gravity

   3. Over Efficient???

      Hi Gang,
      
      I was hoping you could help with this one. I brewed an APA this weekend and everything went great. Hit my mash temp of 154 for the full 60min. Boil went well(90 min). Plopped it all in the fermenter and hit my in fermenter volume of 22ltrs............great! Until....I took the OG reading. This beer was supposed to be 1.066 but the reading was 1.088!!!! I calibrated my Hydrometer and it is right on the money. Is there such thing as being way to over effiecient?

   4. Sugar and the Calculator

      Hopefully this is not a repost as I did a search but could not locate the info.
      
      How does the calculator incorporate surgar? for example I have a Saison that I want make where sugar is about 8% of the grain bill. Do I just add it to the Grain bill tab? Seems like that would be incorrect because you would not neet the extra water as you are not extracting the sugar....
      
      Any thoughts?

      Better adding adjuncts/sugars at the end of the boil, not only does it upset the IBU calcs it stuffs the %efficiency calc.
      
      So the End of Boil sample should be taken before any adjuncts/sugars are added so the brewhouse efficiency can be calculated.

      I think we now have a protocol for using sugars with the calculator ;)

      Hi All,
      
      New to the board and glad to be here and have found it!
      
      I have a question about the calculator. I am brewing 23 ltr batch of BlackIPA.
      
      My expected OG is 1.074. The grain bill is 6124grams (13.4pounds). Pot size is 45cms straight sided. 75 minute boil. The water required is as per the calculator is 41 ltrs. This seems very high. Anyone have any thoughts?
