Re: Low / No Alcohol beer ?

Hi JayP I too have heard of the reheat after fermentation (before bottling) as a reliable method to reduce the final ABV but I am not sure as to what the temp should be or for how long, Do not want to damage the hop aroma or the flavour profile, but I might try it my self on my first brew in 2 years...

Dried Yeast Starters ?

Why can't Dried yeast be used to make a Starter?  I have read lots and lots of posts on multiple sites stating that you cannot use a Dried Yeast to make a Starter Does anyone know why? Yeast is hard to come by where I live and it would be good if I could split a packet, create a Starter and save the...

I for one, REALLY appreciate your effort. I followed with great interest your original thread, and am looking to find away of incorporating the SmartPID into my own home brewery. A simple question, if I may, is there way, other that to reprogram it for each brew to set up multiple 'recipes' that can...

I have to say folks, I have a few left and cracked one open the other day. Not bad, not too bad at all.

Stored them in my cold store, so should have not been too many wild temp, variations, but still quite pleased.

I really enjoyed taking part, and I leaned a lot from the rest of the group.

Happy New Year to all, I have been away (no internet, no house, and no brewing) but I hope to be around a lot more from now on. Looks, great, I have been following this thread since the beginning, very impressive, truly is. Once my Casa (house) is complete, it is definitely something I will be interested in learning more about. As I am now living in Sicily, with very high summer temperatures, I have also had to build a Catin...

Perfect,

Thanks everyone.

I will give each of the recipes a try. Can easily do a micro batch of each to see how they work out.. I need the practice, both with BIABacus and the brewing.

Thanks again.

I made a winter warmer based on an old english porter. I added in figs and liquorice. I did not want my usual 30 litres (could never drink that much in the Christmas period, do I have the recipe, all except the liquorice. It was like drinking Basset Alsorts. So rather than waste it, I brewed up a se...

Hi chaps, Late as always, Here are my results, I tried to be objective where possible, and the final "best of bunch" test was a blind tasting. I appologise, but I am unsure who's is whom's, so it was a true blind taste I named them as: 1) Original 2) Red Tape (Aardman?) 3) Ruby Ale (Yeasty?) 4) Elas...
