   1. Strawberrys?

      Last weekend was the Mathew Street Festival in Liverpool and Mrs Adman tried some Strawberry Fields beer. It went down very well but with an ABV of 7.2 and being pink it was deceptively mild and drinkable.
      
      Whilst our journey home is a tale for another time, I have been asked to brew a strawberry beer. I have looked for recipes and the correct way to use fruit in beer but if anyone has a recipe or tips on how to proceed I would very much appreciate the help.

      I have used whole cherries and never really did anything to them. I have a wild beer still in the carboy and after 15 months I still hear a glug from the air lock once in a while???? wish me luck! Puree is safe and convenient!

   2. Brewing supplies in Sydney

      I need some advice and local knowledge please.
      
      My son has just started a 3 year contract at NSW university and is just settling in.
      
      He has shown interest in home brewing while he is there, first with kits and then moving onto BIAB once he is comfortable with the basics.
      
      I have looked online and found Daves brew store who will supply a starter kit and deliver it (he has no transport yet). Does anyone have any preferred suppliers who offer a similar service or any helpful advice to help him on...

      Where is he living? If he's Inner West then he'd be as well off contacting ESB brewing at Peakhurst. Dave is good and helpful as well.
      
      Marks Home Brew doesn't do fresh wort kits, but for general freight they are in a good freight zone for Sydney using Fastway Couriers, and I know that Mark does sell a heap to Sydney brewers.
      
      For smaller orders under 3 kg such as yeasts, hops and specialty grains Craftbrewer in Brisbane deliver just as cheaply to me here near Taree as when I lived in...

   3. Regular recipes .... what do you brew?

      This morning I'm revisiting my first BIAB recipe as it went down so well last time.
      
      I haven't been brewing for very long (only since March) but I have so far brewed a chocolate stout, a wheat beer, a porter, a ruby honey ale, 3 bitters and a pils.
      
      I am now, as previously mentioned, brewing my first beer again.
      
      Although I have enjoyed all the beers I've brewed, my favourite is the first. I guess that was why I chose that recipe to brew before any others.

      Mid April I had a spate of events to celebrate. It was my birthday, I bought an electric boiler and a proper wort chiller and my football team, Charlton Athletic won promotion. :champ: Time to celebrate....time to brew!

      Yes I leave the lid off. I read somewhere that the evaporation gets rid of some nasties that you don't want in your beer.
      
      To reduce evaporation I have also read about floating a tin plate on the boiling wort but have yet to try this.
      
      So many variables, eventually we will find the best way of doing this, but until then I'll keep experimenting and drinking the results!

   5. Brew music

      It's 7.30 on a Saturday morning and I'm starting to brew. The house is quiet, the kids and SWMBO are asleep and I'm in my brewery (shed). :thumbs: Currently I'm mashing and selecting the music for brewday. :think:
      
      It got me thinking what other brewers listen to whilst brewing. Being an aging hippy I will be listening to some old Pink Floyd first and then raise the tempo during the boil.

      Love to play a bit of Tankard when I'm brewing. It helps me to clear the house - the rest of the family cannot stand thrash metal. I normally start my brewday with Ugly, Fat and Still Alive :champ: and end it with Die with a beer in your hand :shoot:
