      Hi all!
      
      I'm a somewhat experienced brewer, and I've recently aquired a 29 liter boiler with all the trimmings - controllable temp, high quality hop filter, ball valve tap etc. I've been using it to brew just over 10 litres of beer at a time for now, as I've been experimenting with recipes, and using it for full size extract batches the rest of the time.
      
      without maxi-biab, what's the biggest batch size I could make here? I'd like a totally self-contained brewday if possible rather than...

   2. Pro-Mini-BIAB! My new build :)

      Well, I'm going full Mini BIAB and building the equipment for it especially. Why, you ask? Because right now, I'm brewing for quantity, and that is not good. My aim is to learn to make very excellent beer, and by increasing my number of brewdays, I can be more immersed in the hobby and get myself to competition standard :)
      
      I want to make 2 gallon all grain batches. I am doing so at the moment on the hob, but I want something a bit more fun to do it with, so here's my idea...

      Hi rob,
      I would really recommend that you buy a decent thermometer. I've got 4 cheap ebay & amazon thermometers and two glass thermometers and the temperature difference between them is rather shocking. The one probe type thermometer developed the quaint characteristic of jumping by 5C whenever you taped the probe.
      I'm using this as my main instrument. This one also seems to be rather accurate - I bought it without the calibration certificate.

   3. New BIABer, best method in a 33L boiler?

      Howdy. I've had a good ol' look through some topics and have been using Mini-BIAB to make All Grain beer for some time, 2 gallon batches, some of which have been fantastic. My Xmas beer is already bottled and conditioning, that's how tasty is was by the 6 month mark last year! So now, I'm thirsting to go AG.
      
      I'd like to go the full whack and I'm in the process of buying and building a 33L boiler.
      
      What's my best method for getting a full 23L out of this size boiler? I would be mashing in the...

      Looks like it's another £12 for a food safe 60L bucket, a bit space occupying so I'll have to clear out the summer house a bit! lol. that's not really an issue though, as I guess it will save space on a mash tun.

      I'm sure you get this post once a week so most simple introduction ever - Rob, 22, Birmingham England, moving from partial mash to biab, I hope.
      
      My current setup is a 2 gallon stockpot boil, its done the job until now but I want to move on. Here we can buy a 33 litre boiler for just 60 quid - I want to use this to start biab - I have no qualms with topping up providing I'm not using extract, we have brilliant water.
      
      Someone has recommended that I mash in the boiler using maximum space, then...

      Yeah, that's the method I'm leaning towards for sure. My friend made a sparger from a 99p washing up bowl and drilled holes it in...sounds very cheap :p
