   1. I need a new hole

      Hi there,
      
      I've decided to upscale and add another corny to my set up. There's just never enough is there. Anyway, to do this, the Co2's going to have to get relegated to outside of the fridge meaning I'm going to need to drill another hole in my beloved kegorator.
      
      I'd rather drill through the side but this scares the sh*t out of me. I can't find a schematic so wondered if anyone could tell me to stop being so soft and get my drill out. I'd drill through the metal skin & probe before going...

      A bit confused and gutted by something going on with my brewing at the moment and thought you might be able to help...
      
      I have a 56L kettle with a ball valve installed. I've been successfully using a bazooka screen but because it was installed 15cm up the kettle and it was quite wide I was loosing over 5L of wort when draining the kettle post mash.
      
      I decided to install a false bottom to remedy this. All seemed to work well and as expected the hops seemed to act as a 'hop-back' and...

      I whirlpool and then take the wort from the side with a downturned piece of copper. After whirlpooling I end up with a good cone of hop and trub in the centre of the pot and the wort is as clear or clearer than your 2nd (after 5L) photo around the edge. I have no hop screen or false bottom and I dont think you need this in BIAB. This is more a 3 vessel mash pot thing.
      
      Do you do any whirlpooling? Do you use whirlflock or irish moss?
      
      When i am draining the final part into the no chill container...

      Love beer, Love brewing beer, love this forum, HATE WIRING.
      
      Anyone got one of these little ETC 200+'s?
      
      The wiring is a bit of a mystery to me but I'm determined to do it myself. Not keen on killing myself so thought I'd draw a diagram and see if any of you could confirm or correct what I'm doing?
      
      Really appreciate your help!
      
      Oh, I'm plugging it into a UK mains supply.

      I think you're way off the mark with that wiring. Here's a diagram that might help
      Google ETC and you'll find a few references to it, most of us in australia use the STC1000, they're a cheap and easy solution with lots of wiring threads around the forums. I haven't had any experience with the ETC, but it seem like a similar concept

      Hi all,
      
      I've previously been a (mostly!) successful Maxi Biab brewer thanks to all the help on here but recently got a tax rebate so decided to take the plunge and invest in some full scale gear.
      
      Kit now includes:
      
      56L Kettle
      Installed Ball Valve Tap with barb
      Small Bazooka Screen
      Plate chiller
      
      Did my first brew with it last weekend, silicone tubing from the barb on the tap into the plate chiller, bazooka filtering hops then normal sanitized hosing into fermenter.

   5. M First Leftovers Recipe!

      Hi all,
      
      I hate waste! Keen to use up some leftover grain/hops but am relatively inexperienced at making my own recipes. Your opinions would be much appreciated! I use a Maxi-Biab method with a 19L brew pot. I've got lots of Torrified Wheat too, shall I try to include it? Hmmm. I'd like it to be quite hop flavour heavy which is why I'm adding most of the hops at the end.

      I’m a brewing beginner and I’d like to try out Maxi-Biab but have a couple of questions I was hoping you could help me with.
      
      Sparge
      
      I’ve only ever Mini-Biabed before and have never sparged. If I pour water in from a kettle it’ll be way higher than Mash temp. Is this OK? How long should I leave the bag in the sparge water?
      
      Formula
      
      This is my biggest confusion! Would really appreciate it if someone could elaborate on this.

      Just wanted to say thanks for all your help! Maxi Brew day was Sunday and all went to plan so fingers crossed for a decent brew. Quite a bit short of the 23L expected but that's OK. Fingers crossed the fermentation goes well but so far so good. Thanks again!

      I've never brewed a thing in my life but love ale and really keen to get into it. Love this forum, great work!
      
      I've written myself some instructions for the brew day based on bits grabbed from this forum but would love you guys to look over it and let me know of any potential pitfalls or things I can improve upon. I'm a complete novice so please feel free to point out the very obvious!
