      G'day,
      
      I'm a bit of a noob - this is only my third all grain batch.
      
      I'd had a bit of a play with the Biabacus and was fairly sure I'd figured it out.
      
      I decided to make a full volume BIAB batch of schwarzbier in my 19L pot from Big W. I decided on the following grain bill:
      
      37% Pils Malt
      37% Munich 2
      18.5% Caramunich 2
      4.5% Carapils
      3% Carafa Special 2
      
      I plugged (what I thought was) all the required info in into Biabacus (see attached) and bought the ingredients suggested. Today I went...

      Seems like an honest mistake to me, no need to be dramatic here Ben ... :(
      
      Reading back, I don't know how 5.4pH was achieved with 100% tap water ... this sounds off to me, but entirely possible I guess.
      
      What were the exact strips you used? We tout the use of paper DuoTest strips as they are more accurate for our application relative to the plastic ones. I have nothing to cite, just repeating a mantra that I've been trusting (with success) so far. I have no reason to question it after many...

      It's currently Craft Beer Week where I am in Sydney, AUS. A few nights a go I went to an event/talk about hop freshness.
      
      We were given a test: the same beer (a BrewCult Hop Zone IPA ) at 1 week old, 5 weeks old and 60 weeks old (we were not told which was which until we guessed the order of freshness) - basically to note how the hop character changes over time (and how much better it is fresh).
