Re: Comeback?

Absolute crazyness. We lost multiple homebrew shops around here in Oregon too. Some are still open. For me, Salem, Oregon had 2 - now have 1. Corvallis lost theirs. So instead of having 3 places within half an hour or so from me there is just one.

Re: Comeback?

Good idea... But how to do this?

I used to get emails if someone posted an introduction email. Maybe nobody has done this for some time. Just thought about the site, haven't been to it in a few months, so logged in to see. Had to put in user name and password again.

Hello rocky_creeker Welcome to the forum! Thanks for giving all of the info about yourself. Interesting you live in Tampa. My daughter and son-in-law live in Ocoee, to the west of Orlando. My wife and I live in Oregon now (and have for many years) but bought a lot up in Tavares, 30 miles NW of Ocoee...

Hello rockymars and welcome to the forum. With AG brewing, are you doing BIAB? I love beer and brewing, and love to drink wine, but BIAB is the brewing style that made the lost sense to me. The information given on this forum was priceless with help in gaining knowledge rapidly. PistolPatch / Pat Ho...

Hello James, welcome to the forum! You are right that using the BIAB process to mash your beer is an easier process involving less equipment, but you will be happy to know that it is 100% whole grain brewing and will produce just as good of beer as any 3-vessel system. There is a ton of info availab...

Welcome to the forum, amack12345 , BENMANIPA , and MarkBIABer Let us know if you have any questions, moving forward. amack12345 - One of the best things you can do is download the BIABacus Excel file and document each part of your brewing process. It helps a bunch because you measure different parts...

Re: My First Post! - Post here to become Fully Registered

Hello kcrkitek , Welcome to the forum. Let us know if you have any questions. You do a version of BIAB (recirculating wort) that most of us don’t do, but I’m sure you can make excellent beer doing it that way. And probably increase efficiency a tad higher over we get with traditional BIAB. Let us kn...

Re: Typical Brew Day

Hello seniletoo , Looks like nobody responded to your post... Mighty clear looking ESB. Looks good. Certainly you can get as automated as you want to. There are lots of ways to brew good beer. I have a 16 gallon Bayou Classic kettle and normally maximize my system and brew as much as possible. I can...

Re: Vanilla stout

Hello hoptician Apparenly nobody has brewed a vanilla stout before... ;) Let us know how it goes. I've heard of brewing things like that, but am much more traditional. Lots of hoppy European style pilsners and lagers, American Pale Ale and IPA (mostly Hazy-ish, late hop addition style), along with a...

Re: My First Post! - Post here to become Fully Registered

Welcome kush1960 Let us know if you have any questions moving forward. My brew kettle is about 16 gallons and depending on gravity of beer brewed - most of my brews are just over 1.050 OG - normally get a little over 8 gallons VIP (Volume Into Packaging). That can range to over 9 gallons on a lower ...

Re: My First Post! - Post here to become Fully Registered

Welcome to the forum hoptician Your setup will be different than mine - smaller brew kettle and a separate sparge tank. A larger kettle would have made the extra tank unnecessary- (since using one larger tank and no separate sparge is how BIAB started). That said there are many ways to brew and I’m ...

Re: First BIAB Brew - Coffee Porter - Plan and a couple of questions

aliced - why not? What did you brew, process, etc.? You list no details… Follow the proper process and good brewing success becomes easy. ***** EDIT: Alice - If having problems or have questions I might suggest start a new post and as clear as possible list what’s going on. If completed a BIABacus ...
