      G'day, I'm almost at end of this brew (from Brewing Classic Styles p207), have just dry hopped.
      
      Question: The original recipe called for 1.056 OG and actual was 1.070 (did a pretty fine crush) my understanding is that I should have added 5.0L at into fermenter at beginning of fermentation (as per calcs derived from Section N) to bring the SG down, would love if someone could confirm this approach.       Yes, that's correct. 5L in Section N does dilute to 1.056/7 in Section O.

      This is an American Amber from p137 Brewing Classic Styles that I'd like to try and would appreciate if anybody could have a quick check to see if there are any glaring mistakes.
      
      Have also attached spreadsheet in Excel (.xls) and Open Office Calc (.ods) format.

      i love your HO, I will change it to 90 minutes right now. i usually use a 90 minute mash, but it seems i've copied the recipe mash time :idiot: .

   3. Grain Storage Options

      G'day All,
      I am considering methods to store about 75-100kg of various grains, bulk and specialty, at my home.
      As I live about 200 km south of Perth, and only have one supplier down here, looking at possibility of becoming a bit more independent on the brew ingredients.
      So, love to hear about your methods of storing grain.
      I need to store outside under the patio.

      The final solution .... olive pickling drums, 220L, $20 a piece from Bruce at Waikiki south of Perth, found them on Gumtree.
      Can't show you photos of the kids inside the drums cleaning (playing with soap and water) out the remnant olives and brine solution, but they had lots of fun!
      I reckon this drum would hold up to 100kg of grain, but I think 75kg would be more manageable getting different grains in and out.
      The last photo is of the other drum I bought which I made into a tumbling composter,...

      Hi Folks,
      
      A kind soul kindly allowed me to copy the following Coopers Sparkling Ale clone recipe from one of her books. When I see her again I will list title and author, the pages I took pics of don't have those details.
      
      The main recipe is for a partial brew method, but it also details adaptions for a mini mash method and all grain method. I have a 50L (40cm x 40cm pot) BIAB setup with gas burner and have previously given the all grain method listed below a go and fluked a drinkable result....
