Potato Masher

Post #1 made 13 years ago
What do you think of this masher?, it's the biggest and longest I can find. I am trying to get one bigger than Aces High

You can also use it for other things, like mashing potatoes.
32 x 7.1 x 5.4 inches ; 2.6 pounds

Whoa!

With a 32" long handle, you could mash a S*@^load of potatoes!

You might just cut a 9-10" diameter disk out of a piece of plywood and screw it onto a long piece of 2x2. That would really move the water/mash around as you pump it up and down.

That's a goodie for sure!

Having the wire pattern or a hatched pattern is important as that combined with the up and down motion creates a heap of vortices that not only break up any dough balls but also 'blend' the grist with the water.

Aces High is a neighbour of mine. I hope you haven't started a war!

bring on the masher war :shoot: :shoot:

I gotta say its so much easier to mash in with this compared to a standard mash paddle. Especially when doing 10+ kilo mash ins, the up down motion is just easier and more efficient
