      Well, My first true biab is busy mashing away in the garage. Ive been taking photos/measurements etc, along the way. So with any luck Ill be posting a bit of a photo essay of my first real biab. Im relaxing, having a brew :smoke: , and wondering about the 90min vs 60 min. boil. Being a green sort of fellow, I was thinking :scratch: : the 90 min boil will use 30% more propane than a 60 min. boil. So why the extra length?

      I really appreciate all the answers Ive received to my questions. Someday maybe I can actually contribute ;)
      
      Here is another question. BrickBrewHouse was kind enough to provide me with a copy of the calculator that has Gallons, Ounces and such. Ive had a chance to play around and get a feel for how it works, very cool! I'm math/computer and spreadsheet challenged, but I think Ive got it. If I wanted to brew up a batch of Amarillo APA for instance. Id start with.....

      Just ask PP about terminology and you might get a long rant :P But I agree, the terminology can be confusing/daunting/misleading, everything that brewers should try to avoid. I really appreciate the efforts that BIABrewer.info has taken to keep terminology consistent. I think if you study up on the terminology used on this forum, you'll find that everyone does a good job at keeping things clear. I think this stems from the work folks have done in creating the original Calculator and defining...

   4. Pot cozy and 2nd BIAB

      Mashing a Cologne Kolsch as I type. Its my second all grain and 2nd BIAB. Im still feeling my way around this method, and brewing in general.
      
      During mash, Ive been wrapping my pot with a covered fiberglass batt and laying an old quilt over the whole thing to help hold mash temp. My method is hardly ideal, but it seems to work. What can I do that is easier? :think:

   5. Is there a calculator in imperial units?

      Yes, I know that metric is easier, but all my experience is in Gallons, Inches etc. Is there a way to convert the calculator to imperial units?
