Yes, my kettle is my mash tun, sorry for the confusion. The element in ULWD, but i have another one that i might use if the old camco will die. This is a chinese LWD (from my calculation, on ebay they say it's ULWD but seems shorter than a ULWD one).

Heating element in the mash tun?

Hi, As i said on another threads i plan to switch to electric brewing. Can i "fire" the heating element from the kettle during the mash to keep the mash temperature at the required value? Recirculation is a possibility to equalize the temperature from the mash. I will have a PID and a pt100 probe fo...

I don't want 2 elements, just a 9000w one reduced to about 3000w to simulate a ulwd element. This way the cost isn't too big, it's even cheaper than ordering a ulwd from usa. I have a 4500w ulwd Camco element from a friend, but it has steel socket and can rust in time, that's why i am looking for a ...

Mally, a controllable power suply is what i was thinking. I don't know how expensive it can be. Also i don't have any friends in Hungary, altough we are neighbours. I also don't know if the shipping to Hungary would be a lot cheaper than directly to Romania. Bellybuster, the element you linked to it...

My friend that gave it to me used it before he got the SS one. Theelectricbrewery recommend it before the camco stainless steel one was available. Many brewers use it, some use a magnesium anode to protect the element base from rusting. I will use it just in wort, for the water i will use something ...

A friend gave me a 4500 W ULWD element for free :D it is the model with with the socket that can rust. Any ideea how can i make it rust resistent? I am looking for the cheapest control panel, if you can direct me to some cheap chinese PIDs, SSRs, sensor, etc, please do so. Does any of you use those ...

Thanks, but "Sorry, this Seller doesn’t deliver to Romania". Now i realised that i don't have my location in my profile :) On ebay i found a seller that can deliver to Romania, but the element costs 40$ and the shipping another 60$ :headhit: I am looking for a better option...

Where do you buy Ultra Low Watt Density heating elements in Europe? I didn't found a seller yet. From USA is to expensive to order in my country, the shipping cost is bigger than the cost of the element.

I want them to be the prettiest slants! I used homemalted grains for making the wort, and in only 2 liters of water it turned very cloudy, with a lot of break, proteins, etc. Is not the usual cloudy wort that you get normaly with biab (i think the small volume of water is the issue, beside malt, of ...

I made 2 liters of wort for making slants but it turned too cloudy, can i clarify it?

LE: I used some cotton filters and got clear wort :D

That's reassuring. I don't know what weight are you talking. Is that weight on the steam nozlze? If it is, why would a better pressure cooker would have 2 or more? Did you tested your PC or you just presume it gives about 15 psi from your results? BTW, a friend of mine uses some medical grade antiba...

I konw that, but i want to buy a cheap pressure cooker, without a pressure gauge, and i am not sure if it can get to 15psi. That's all i can afford for now. I will buy some sterilizing strips also, to check if it can get to that pressure.

Re: Re:

bionut there are some absolutely excellent and spot on (totally correct) answers above. Instead of you proving to your friend why basic physics is correct, maybe get your friend prove to us why basic physics is wrong? It is, after all, a very basic physics question. For example, which of the follow...
